Roskam Foods has announced plans to centralise its cereal and granola manufacturing operations at its primary campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The consolidation is anticipated to be completed by 1 October 2026.
The operational shift forms part of a broader network optimisation strategy aimed at streamlining processing lines, improving supply chain logistics, and leveraging recent capital investments across its core cereal and grain categories.
As part of the manufacturing consolidation, Roskam Foods will cease operations at its processing facility in San Dimas, California. The San Dimas plant entered Roskam's manufacturing network following the company's acquisition of Organic Milling in 2023.
All production schedules and volume capabilities are being transferred to the Grand Rapids campus. Roskam confirmed that customer notifications have been completed directly and that the transition will cause no interruption to customer service, order fulfilment, or product supply.
Andre LeBron, Chief Executive Officer of Roskam Foods, stated that centralising cereal and granola manufacturing in Grand Rapids represents a long-term investment in the category, positioning the business to deliver higher operational efficiency and faster innovation cycles for its brand partners.
Sourcing and Automation Infrastructure
According to the enterprise, the Grand Rapids facility was selected as the central hub due to its geographic advantages for raw ingredient sourcing, advanced automation capabilities, and established production infrastructure across the US Midwest.
Consolidating manufacturing into a single, purpose-built location is designed to enhance quality control, accelerate speed-to-market, and fully utilise new capital expenditure directed into cereal and granola processing lines.
Zach Malin, Chief Commercial Officer at Roskam Foods, noted that centralising production provides the operational scale and agility required to build capacity and innovate alongside expanding customer demand.
Workforce Transition
To manage the facility closure in California, Roskam Foods has completed all required statutory and regulatory filings, including Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notices.
The company confirmed it is providing support for affected employees at the San Dimas site, including collaborating with regional employers to assist workers in identifying new employment opportunities.
