Technology platform Uber Technologies, Inc. has announced strategic partnerships with four regional grocery retailers across the United States. The commercial expansion brings Busch’s Fresh Food Market, Hays, Lowe’s Market, and Piggly Wiggly onto the Uber Eats, Uber, and Postmates marketplace platforms.
The rollout broadens Uber's nationwide grocery footprint, enabling consumers to access on-demand and scheduled delivery from established neighbourhood supermarkets across several key regional markets.
Regional Grocer Integration
The addition of the four regional retail banners allows Uber Eats to strengthen its geographic coverage and serve consumers who rely on established local grocery operators for daily and weekly shopping needs.
The newly integrated grocery partners comprise:
🛒 Busch's Fresh Food Market: A family-owned Michigan grocer operating for more than 50 years, specialising in fresh produce, butcher-cut meat, seafood, prepared foods, and local products.
🏬 Hays: A regional family-owned grocery business with over a century of trading history, serving local communities across Arkansas and Missouri under its Hays Supermarkets and Food Smart banners.
🥩 Lowe’s Market: Part of parent enterprise Pay and Save, Inc., the banner serves regional markets primarily across Texas, offering fresh produce, pantry staples, and neighbourhood grocery items.
🐷 Piggly Wiggly: The self-service supermarket pioneer, expanding digital ordering capabilities via Uber Eats across select store locations in North Carolina.
Delivery Infrastructure and Marketplace Operations
The retail integration allows consumers to order grocery stock-ups and last-minute essentials with real-time order tracking directly through the Uber Eats, Uber, and Postmates applications.
Hashim Amin, Head of Grocery and Retail for North America at Uber, stated that local retail preferences play a key role in consumer shopping routines. Amin noted that partnering with established regional chains and neighbourhood markets allows Uber Eats to expand consumer choice while opening digital growth channels for regional grocers.
Subscribers to the Uber One loyalty programme will also receive delivery fee benefits on eligible grocery orders, supporting transaction frequency across the platform's expanded retail merchant base.
