Consumer packaged goods group Starco Brands, Inc. has completed the acquisition of California-based manufacturer Custom Bakehouse. The deal, which was finalised on 15 July 2026, strengthens Starco's internal production capabilities while adding approximately US$20 million in annual revenue to the business.
The acquisition incorporates Custom Bakehouse's 75,000-square-foot production facility in Santa Fe Springs, California, into Starco's operational footprint. The unit expands Starco's technical manufacturing scope across dry powder formulation, baking mixes, hydration products, and private-label production.
Manufacturing Capabilities
The transaction serves as the cornerstone for Starco Manufacturing, a newly established subsidiary created to consolidate the firm's production assets alongside its core brand-building division, Starco Brands, Inc.
The Santa Fe Springs facility expands Starco's processing and packaging capabilities across several core categories:
🧁 Baking Mixes: Production of proprietary and licensed retail lines, including the Sticky Fingers brand and licensed Marie Callender's baking mixes.
🥤 Drink and Hydration Mixes: Formulation and blending for functional beverage powders and hydration products.
🌾 Powdered Foods and Nutritional Blends: Processing capacity for nutritional powder formulations, supplements, and dry health blends.
🧂 Dry Seasonings: Custom blending and packaging for retail and private-label seasoning lines.
By integrating direct formulation, manufacturing, and distribution capabilities, Starco aims to reduce production lead times, secure IP control, and improve margins across its proprietary and private-label product lines.
Leadership and Financial
The acquisition was financed through debt capital provided by lower-middle-market lender Pasadena Private Lending (PPL). Financial advisory services for the seller were executed by investment banking firm Craig-Hallum.
Ross Sklar, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Starco Brands, stated that controlling manufacturing assets directly provides the business with an innovation hub and operational speed required to scale consumer brands across physical retail and digital channels.
Iain Whyte, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pasadena Private Lending, noted that supporting the transaction aligns with PPL's strategy of backing vertically integrated lower-middle-market CPG platforms.
