Red Bull has launched The Glacier Edition, introducing a frosted raspberry flavour variant to the UK energy drinks market.

The limited-run release arrives initially as an exclusive offering for Booker wholesale customers and Tesco supermarket stores, ahead of a wider commercial rollout scheduled across the UK in early 2027. The launch follows the arrival of the brand's seasonal Winter Edition Pistachio and Berries variant, which debuted across retail shelves in September.

The product introduction expands the company's established Editions portfolio, providing retail stockists with seasonal flavour rotation to capture consumer trial within the functional energy drinks fixture.

"Flavoured energy remains a major growth driver, having outperformed unflavoured energy and gained share over the past three years," said a Red Bull spokesperson. "Red Bull Editions have played a central role in the category momentum, delivering year-on-year growth and attracting a strong shopper base as the portfolio continues to expand with rate of sale increasing with every seasonal launch."

Flavour Profile and Formulation

The Glacier Edition translates winter fruit and cooling sensory notes into the brand's core functional energy matrix:

🫐 Frosted Raspberry: Combines an icy-fresh sensory profile with subtle sweet-tart raspberry flavour notes, delivering 80mg of caffeine per 250ml alongside taurine, B-group vitamins, and 27g of sugars.

The liquid formulation retains the standard functional performance attributes of Red Bull Energy Drink, providing carbonated stimulation calibrated for daytime focus, work, driving, and active leisure occasions.

Pack Formats and Pricing

Red Bull is distributing The Glacier Edition across five distinct packaging configurations, spanning single-serve impulse cans, larger-volume formats, and multipacks:

250ml Plain Pack: Recommended retail price (RRP) of £1.80 for standard retail grocery and impulse chillers.

250ml Price-Marked Can (PMC): Price-marked at £1.75 to provide clear value communication across independent convenience retailers.

473ml Plain Pack: Larger single-serve format retailing at an RRP of £2.85.

473ml Price-Marked Can (PMC): Price-marked at £2.80 for convenience and symbol group store shelves.

Four-Pack Multipack (4 x 250ml): Retail pack priced at an RRP of £5.75, targeted at planned take-home consumption.

The dual availability of standard and price-marked packaging structures enables symbol group and independent retailers to maintain price transparency on shelf, an operational mechanic that supports conversion in convenience and forecourt chillers.

By sequencing the launch through an exclusive distribution window with Booker and Tesco before expanding into general wholesale in early 2027, Red Bull establishes early sales velocity and promotional visibility across major supermarket aisles and independent symbol groups throughout the autumn and winter trading period.
