Plant-based beverage brand Plenish has expanded its Clean Protein portfolio with the commercial launch of its Clean Protein Oat Drink.

Billed as the UK's only high-protein oat drink formulated without added oils or additives, the beverage delivers 10 grams of protein per serving and 40 grams of protein per pack. Made with four naturally sourced ingredients, the product entered selected Tesco stores nationwide and the brand's direct-to-consumer e-commerce portal on 31 August 2026.

The launch enters the functional dairy-alternative sector as brand owners increasingly formulate high-protein, clean-label plant milks to satisfy consumer scrutiny over ultra-processed ingredients and industrial additives.

The product introduction aligns with expanding consumer focus on protein intake and natural ingredient sourcing across the United Kingdom.

Data cited by the manufacturer indicates that the global plant-based protein market is projected to reach approximately $35 billion by 2030, supported by 28% of UK shoppers who are actively increasing their daily protein consumption. Concurrently, UK online searches for natural protein sources have grown by 20 per cent year-on-year.

By pairing a high-protein formulation with a minimal four-ingredient deck, the Carlsberg Britvic-owned brand addresses demand for functional plant-based options that avoid added oils and synthetic gums.

Four-Ingredient Formulation and Nutritional Profile

The development of Plenish Clean Protein Oat Drink combines an oil- and additive-free formulation with elevated macronutrient metrics, providing a complete amino acid profile.

Formulated to maintain the creamy mouthfeel of standard oat milk, the beverage is engineered for versatile daily usage, including pouring over cold cereal, stirring into hot porridge, or blending into functional smoothies.

Key formulation specifications and technical attributes include:

🌾 Four Naturally Sourced Ingredients: Manufactured with a simple four-ingredient deck without stabilisers, emulsifiers, or added vegetable oils.

💪 Complete Amino Acid Profile: Formulated to supply 10g of plant-based protein per serving and 40g of protein per multi-serve carton.

🌱 Clean-Label Architecture: Free from gums, oils, and artificial additives, aligning with the brand's ingredient transparency standards.

🥛 Application Versatility: Engineered to integrate into breakfast cereals, warm oat bowls, and blended smoothies without flavour compromise.

Russell Goldman, Managing Director of Breakthrough Brands at parent business Carlsberg Britvic, stated that consumers are actively seeking convenient methods to increase dietary protein without overhauling daily eating and drinking routines. Goldman noted that while many convenient protein options rely on additives and heavily processed ingredients, the new drink provides a way to top up protein intake while maintaining ingredient transparency and product taste.

Commercial Distribution and Pricing

Plenish Clean Protein Oat Drink commenced commercial distribution on 31 August 2026.

Key retail parameters and commercial details of the launch include:

Physical Retail Placement: Rolling out across selected Tesco supermarket stores nationwide.

Digital Direct-to-Consumer: Available online directly through the company's dedicated web platform at plenishdrinks.com.

Pricing Tier: Positioned at a recommended retail price (RRP) of £2.50 per carton.

The rollout provides grocery stockists and health food retailers with an additive-free, high-protein entry in the plant-based milk fixture, capturing health-conscious shoppers seeking natural protein fortification.
