Nestlé and private equity firm Platinum Equity have announced plans to form Peranel, a 50:50 joint venture encompassing Nestlé’s global waters and premium beverages business. The transaction assigns an enterprise value to Peranel of €4.9 billion (CHF 4.5 billion), generating estimated cash proceeds of €3.0 billion (CHF 2.8 billion) for Nestlé upon closing.
Headquartered in Paris, the independent corporate entity will operate exclusively within the bottled water and functional hydration sectors, giving the business dedicated capital and operational flexibility to expand its international brand footprint.
The transaction is subject to required employee consultation processes and customary regulatory approvals, with completion targeted for the first half of 2027.

Joint Venture Structure
The transaction brings together Nestlé's beverage portfolio with Platinum Equity’s operational turnaround and corporate divestiture expertise. Platinum Equity currently manages approximately USD $48 billion in assets.
Under the agreed terms, both partners will maintain equal 50 per cent ownership stakes in Peranel. The transaction structure provides the new entity with standalone operational autonomy while retaining access to Nestlé's global joint-venture management framework.
