Bluedrop Water has formed a partnership with automated bottling technology company Boomerang Water to deliver an integrated, on-site closed-loop hydration system for hospitality properties across North America and the Caribbean.
The joint programme combines Bluedrop Water’s commercial filtration and purification infrastructure with Boomerang Water’s automated on-site bottling mechanics, providing hotels, luxury resorts, restaurants, and mixed-use commercial developments with an end-to-end alternative to packaged single-use bottled water.
The commercial system has completed its initial commercial deployment at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah, where the integrated infrastructure manages guest and staff water provisions across the property.
"Bluedrop and Boomerang have helped us build a more complete and sustainable water programme at Black Desert Resort," said Evan Breckenridge, Director of Marketing at Black Desert Resort. "The result has been less reliance on single-use packaging, a better guest experience and a more efficient, cost-effective operation."
Closed-Loop Bottling Mechanics
The integrated operational workflow connects centralised water treatment with localised distribution and sanitisation:
Source Purification: Bluedrop Water installs dedicated commercial purification systems that treat municipal supplies on-site to high-purity drinking water standards.
Automated On-Site Bottling: Boomerang Water’s commercial bottling units clean, sanitise, and fill custom-branded reusable glass and aluminium containers on the property.
Decentralised Refill Stations: Properties deploy Bluedrop touchless refill dispensers across high-traffic guest areas, fitness centres, conference facilities, and employee back-of-house areas.
Collection and Recirculation: Used containers are returned to designated Boomerang collection points, where they re-enter the automated wash, sanitisation, and refilling cycle.
By establishing an in-house bottling and washing loop, hospitality venues eliminate recurring freight, warehousing, and waste-disposal overheads associated with external palletised bottled water deliveries.
"Our alliance with Bluedrop Water allows hospitality organisations to create a seamless hydration experience across their entire property," said Jason Dibble, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Boomerang Water. "Boomerang delivers the on-site bottling infrastructure and reusable bottle programme, while Bluedrop extends premium water access throughout guest and staff areas. Together, we're helping properties elevate service while advancing sustainability goals."
ESG Compliance and Waste Elimination
The collaboration addresses expanding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting requirements within the commercial hospitality and tourism sectors.
Many international hotel groups and regional resorts have established targets to phase out single-use guestroom plastics, reduce scope 3 transport emissions, and achieve third-party green building and sustainability certifications. By substituting single-use plastic or imported glass bottles with durable aluminium and glass vessels circulated entirely within the property boundary, operators can substantially lower solid-waste volumes.
The joint platform also captures volume metrics and waste-reduction data, providing property managers with auditable carbon and plastic diversion metrics to incorporate into corporate sustainability disclosures.
"Hospitality leaders are looking for ways to deliver premium guest experiences while reducing environmental impact," said Brendan Dickinson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bluedrop Water. "By combining Boomerang's closed-loop bottling programme with our refill station network, properties can offer sustainable hydration solutions that guests appreciate and expect."
Availability
The joint programme is commercially available to qualifying hospitality businesses, real estate developments, and corporate venues across the United States and the Caribbean.
Under the partnership agreement, Bluedrop and Boomerang provide turnkey operational support, including hardware installation, equipment maintenance, filtration servicing, and custom vessel design to match operator brand identities.
