Napolina has introduced a new range of ambient stir-in pasta sauces manufactured in Foggia, Southern Italy. Designed to simplify home cooking, the range allows consumers to stir the sauce directly into hot, cooked pasta without requiring prior heating, simmering, or baking.
The launch targets consumer demand for authentic, regional Italian flavour profiles combined with rapid, high-convenience preparation formats.
Product Formulation and Regional Varieties
The new Napolina Stir-In Sauces are packaged in jars designed to serve four people. The product line is produced in Foggia, with specific ingredients sourced from distinct Italian regions to emphasise culinary heritage.
The range comprises four distinct flavour profiles:
🍅 Sundried Tomato and Basil: A classic Italian combination featuring sun-soaked tomatoes and fragrant basil. Available immediately at Tesco.
🌶️ Spicy Calabrian 'Nduja with Chilli: A bold, silky sauce combining fiery Calabrian 'nduja with rich tomatoes to deliver depth and heat. Available immediately at Tesco.
🫒 Sundried Tomato and Olive Puttanesca: Crafted in Puglia, this recipe utilises black olives instead of traditional green olives to achieve a deeper, smoother flavour, combined with sweet sundried tomatoes, capers, and garlic. Scheduled for release soon.
🍆 Grilled Vegetables: A rustic blend of chargrilled Mediterranean vegetables and sweet sun-ripened tomatoes. Scheduled for release soon.
Retail Strategy and Convenience Focus
The product formulation focuses on a thick, premium texture designed to coat pasta shapes instantly, eliminating the traditional preparation steps associated with standard jarred sauces. Napolina is positioning the range as a versatile pantry essential suitable for quick mid-week meals or weekend dining.
Tesco has secured the initial retail launch for the Sundried Tomato and Basil and Spicy Calabrian 'Nduja with Chilli variants. The remaining two flavours, Sundried Tomato and Olive Puttanesca and Grilled Vegetables, will be rolled out to retail channels soon.
