Kraft Heinz has expanded its core ambient canned portfolio in the United Kingdom with the commercial launch of Heinz Extra Rich Beans.

Packaged in a 410g can, the line extension introduces a thicker, more savoury formulation to the brand's flagship baked beans platform. Developed to offer a richer taste profile than the classic recipe, the SKU is positioned to capture main-meal evening occasions, family dinners, and hot recipe pairings across UK grocery networks.

Savoury Formulation

The development of Heinz Extra Rich Beans focuses on delivering enhanced depth of flavour through elevated tomato concentration and natural seasoning adjustments.

By combining an increased tomato paste ratio with yeast extract and cracked black pepper, the formulation provides a robust sauce consistency engineered to pair with centre-plate proteins such as sausages, pies, and mash.

Key nutritional specifications and formulation parameters include:

🍅 Elevated Tomato Concentration: Formulated with a 37% tomato base to deliver a thicker sauce viscosity and richer colour.

🫘 Haricot Bean Content: Features a 50% bean content supplying plant-based protein and dietary fibre.

🌱 Clean Nutritional Profile: Certified suitable for vegans, low in saturated fat, and manufactured without artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives.

💪 Functional Micronutrients: Delivers 10.5g of protein and 7.2g of dietary fibre per half-can serving, contributing one portion toward the recommended five-a-day fruit and vegetable intake.

🧂 Savoury Seasoning Matrix: Enhanced with spirit vinegar, black pepper, and yeast extract to provide natural umami depth without excessive sweetness.

Retail Availability and Pricing

Heinz Extra Rich Beans has commenced commercial distribution across UK grocery and online channels, securing initial listings with retailers including Ocado.

The 410g cans carry a standard recommended retail price of £1.40, supported by introductory promotional mechanics such as two cans for £2.00 to drive early consumer trial across mass and digital supermarket channels.
