Sixth-generation Italian pasta manufacturer Pasta Rummo has expanded its commercial portfolio in the United States, introducing three authentic pasta shapes to coincide with National Pasta Month in October.

The commercial rollout introduces Pasta Rummo Potato Gnocchi alongside two traditional dry pasta cuts: Fusilli Corti Bucati and Stelline. The line extensions enter retail distribution nationwide through Whole Foods Market and select supermarket stockists, with suggested retail prices starting at $3.99.

The launch aligns with sustained consumer demand across North American grocery aisles for authentic, restaurant-quality Italian pantry staples that reduce preparation time without sacrificing texture or clean-label credentials.

"At Pasta Rummo, innovation has always gone hand in hand with tradition," said Antonio Rummo, President of Rummo USA. "As we celebrate our 180th anniversary, we're proud to continue expanding our offerings with products that make authentic Italian cuisine more accessible to US consumers. All our products embody everything our family has stood for over six generations – exceptional ingredients, uncompromising quality and the belief that simple, well-crafted foods create memorable meals."

Product Formats and Specifications

The product expansion introduces distinct formats engineered for specific culinary applications across quick-cook meals, pasta bakes, and broths:

🥔 Potato Gnocchi: Formulated from Italian durum wheat semolina and fresh Italian potatoes without artificial preservatives. Engineered to cook in two minutes, the pillowy dumplings feature delicate exterior ridges designed to hold pestos, tomato reductions, and butter sauces (MSRP $4.49).

🌀 Fusilli Corti Bucati: A tight, spiral-shaped cut with a hollow centre, formulated to trap robust sauces and chunky meat or vegetable ragùs within the pasta structure (MSRP $3.99).

⭐ Stelline: A classic miniature star-shaped pastina cut calibrated for family dining, comforting broths, and clear soups (MSRP $3.99).

Certified Al Dente Processing and Heritage Method

Founded in 1846 in Benevento, southern Italy, Pasta Rummo manufactures dry pasta utilising its proprietary Lenta Lavorazione® method.

The production model employs extended kneading, slow extrusion, and controlled low-temperature drying cycles to preserve the native protein structure and gluten matrix of durum wheat. This industrial method creates an abrasive surface texture that maximises sauce adherence on the plate while preventing surface stickiness during cooking.

Pasta Rummo holds independent third-party certification from Bureau Veritas (N. 385-003) for its cooking performance, validating structural al dente firmness and shape retention across varying kitchen preparation conditions.

Retail Distribution

The new product introductions arrive amid steady commercial growth for the Benevento-based producer in the North American market.

According to retail performance data cited by the brand, Pasta Rummo has ranked as the fastest-growing pasta brand in the US over the past seven years across both its core classic semolina and gluten-free product collections.

By introducing rapid-cook fresh potato gnocchi alongside specialised artisanal pasta cuts, the producer aims to expand shelf placement within premium dry and ambient pasta fixtures, offering grocers incremental trading opportunities in the premium Italian grocery segment.

Pasta Rummo Potato Gnocchi, Fusilli Corti Bucati, and Stelline are currently available across Whole Foods Market stores and independent speciality grocers nationwide.
