Sparkling wine brand Freixenet has expanded into the ready-to-drink (RTD) canned cocktail sector with the launch of Freixenet Solare Spritz.

The product introduction represents the enterprise's debut in the canned RTD market, combining sparkling wine heritage with citrus and botanical flavour profiles.

Formulated to address shifting consumer preferences toward lower-alcohol beverage options, the spritz targets light, wine-adjacent refreshment occasions across retail channels.

Mediterranean Flavour Profile

The development of Freixenet Solare Spritz incorporates fruit and herbal extracts inspired by Spanish culinary traditions.

Key ingredient specifications and formulation metrics include:

šŸ‹ Spanish Citrus Base:Ā Formulated with natural Spanish lemon and clementine flavourings to provide a bright citrus profile.

🌿 Botanical Infusion: Blended with rosemary and thyme extracts to deliver a subtle herbal bitterness and balanced finish.

āš–ļø Alcohol and Caloric Content:Ā Formulated with 5 per cent alcohol by volume (ABV) and 110 calories per 250ml serving.

🌱 Natural Ingredient Profile: Manufactured using 100 per cent natural fruit and botanical flavourings.

Lindsey Willey, Vice President of Marketing at Freixenet Mionetto USA, stated that the development strategy focused on leveraging the brand's Mediterranean origin to offer a distinct flavour profile within the ready-to-drink segment.

Product Specifications and Pricing

Freixenet Solare Spritz is entering commercial distribution in a single-serve format:

  • Packaging Format:Ā Distributed in 250ml slim cans packaged in four-can retail cartons.

  • Suggested Retail Price:Ā Offered at a suggested retail price (SRP) of US$15.00 per four-pack.

  • Category Placement:Ā Formatted for placement across chilled RTD, canned wine, and premium flavoured alcoholic beverage aisles in grocery, mass, and liquor stockists.

The rollout provides retail stockists and beverage distributors with an additional lower-ABV canned wine cocktail format designed for warm-weather and daytime social consumption occasions.
