Wisconsin-based ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail producer Carbliss has expanded its beverage portfolio with the launch of an all-new 12% ABV Cocktail Collection, marking the brand's commercial entry into the higher-proof premix category.
Rolling out to retail shelves across six Midwestern states from November 2026 ahead of a wider national expansion in 2027, the collection introduces four bar-inspired serves crafted with authentic spirits bases, including tequila, vodka, and rum. Formulated with zero sugar and zero carbohydrates, each single-serve can delivers 12% alcohol by volume alongside 250 calories, offering a gluten-free proposition tailored for convenience and off-premise retail chillers.
The product introduction responds to expanding consumer appetite for spirit-based ready-to-drink options that deliver authentic cocktail strength without the high sugar and caloric load typically found in conventional high-proof premixes.
"Flavour has always been where we start," said Adam Kroener, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Carbliss.
"When we launched Carbliss, we wanted to make a drink that actually tasted like what it said on the can, and we've never moved away from that. Now we're taking that same mindset into 12%. This is a full-strength cocktail built to get the party started, with the flavour people expect from Carbliss and zero carbs and zero sugar. More alcohol didn't mean we were willing to compromise on anything else."
Spirit-Based Formulation and Cocktail Profiles
The 12% collection is built around specific distilled spirit bases rather than malt or fermented sugar alternatives, utilising limited carbonation to preserve flavour clarity:
🍹 Margarita: Crafted with real tequila, delivering a traditional citrus and agave cocktail profile with 12% ABV, zero sugar, and zero carbohydrates.
🥭 Mango Margarita: A tropical fruit variation formulated with real tequila, pairing sweet mango flavouring with tart lime notes.
🫐 Blackberry Moscow Mule: Combines authentic vodka with tart blackberry notes and ginger undertones, replicating the classic copper-mug serve.
🍍 Mai Tai: Formulated with real rum, delivering a balanced blend of tropical fruit and citrus flavours true to the classic tiki serve.
By engineering the drinks with restrained carbonation, the brand aims to deliver an authentic back-bar cocktail mouthfeel while circumventing the heavy stomach sensation often caused by highly effervescent canned beverages.

High-ABV Market Dynamics and Nutritional Profile
The launch follows sustained volume growth across higher-potency ready-to-drink cocktails, where consumers are increasingly seeking full-strength spirit drinks in portable single-serve formats.
Historically, higher-ABV premixes have carried elevated sugar content to mask ethanol warmth, frequently resulting in high caloric density. By preserving a zero-carbohydrate and zero-sugar deck at 250 calories per serving, the collection offers retail stockists a distinct product specification within the premium high-ABV cooler section, bridging the gap between active lifestyle dietary choices and high-proof convenience beverages.
To differentiate the new tier from Carbliss’s foundational 5% ABV core collection, the packaging incorporates modern graphic design featuring brightly coloured ingredient illustrations that contrast against clean trade dress for shelf visibility.
Phased Distribution and Retail Roadmap
Carbliss is executing a two-stage commercialisation roadmap to scale availability across retail grocery, liquor store networks, and convenience forecourts:
Regional Midwest Launch (November 2026): Initial commercial distribution begins across Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
National Channel Expansion (2027): Following the Midwestern rollout, the 12% portfolio will expand into additional wholesale markets nationwide throughout 2027.
The phased regional entry allows the business to establish sales velocity and distribution routes within its core heartland territory before fulfilling wider nationwide wholesale orders next year.
