Danone USA has published its first-ever US Economic Impact Study detailing a $9.6 billion contribution to the United States economy in 2025. The report, conducted by economic research firm John Dunham & Associates, outlines the company's role in supporting domestic food production, local employment and agricultural supply chains.
National Food Footprint and Employment
The study indicates that Danone's operations supported approximately 22,000 American jobs across agriculture, manufacturing, research and development and other associated industries in 2025. The company directly employs more than 5,000 workers across over 10 manufacturing facilities in the US.
According to the findings, every direct Danone job helps support nearly three additional roles across farms, suppliers, transportation networks and local communities.

Domestic Sourcing and Agricultural Investment
A significant portion of Danone's economic footprint is driven by its commitment to domestic agriculture. The company currently sources approximately 90% of its ingredients from within the US.
In 2025, Danone purchased around 200 million gallons of milk from American farms, generating economic activity in key agricultural regions including Kansas, Utah, Idaho, Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin.
Beyond direct procurement, the business is investing in regenerative agriculture and farm innovation. These partnerships are designed to support practices that improve soil health, farm productivity and long-term agricultural resilience.
Mitch Schwieterman, a sixth-generation family farm operator in Ohio, noted that the partnership with Danone has accelerated their investments in both dairy and farming operations, enabling them to scale regenerative practices that strengthen their farmland.
Product Innovation and Supply Chain Resilience
Danone has directed billions into US manufacturing over the past decade to strengthen supply chain resilience and support domestic production capabilities.
This manufacturing base facilitates ongoing product innovation targeted at shifting consumer health priorities, such as demand for protein, gut health, plant-based nutrition and options with lower added sugar. In 2025, the company expanded its high-protein OIKOS portfolio to include OIKOS Fusion, a high-protein drink formulated to support muscle maintenance and digestive health.
Dan Magliocco, President of Danone USA, stated that the company sources from American farmers, invests in US manufacturing and produces nutrient-dense food to drive a positive ripple effect on community health and the broader economy. As one of the world's largest Certified B Corps, Danone views these investments as a long-term effort to strengthen the resilience of industries connected to food and nutrition.
