Ube Superfood has introduced a premier organic purple yam powder blend, aimed at providing an authentic, clean-label alternative to the synthetic dyes and high-sugar syrups currently common in the commercial ube market. The launch addresses growing demand within the functional beverage and bakery sectors for natural, plant-based ingredients.
Product Formulation and Profile
The product consists of a blend of 90% USDA Organic purple yam and 10% real vanilla powder. The formulation excludes added sugars, fillers, and artificial dyes, aiming to provide a functional ingredient suitable for lattes, smoothies, and pastry applications.
The purple yam is sourced from sustainable farms in the Philippines. From a nutritional perspective, the blend is positioned as a caffeine-free alternative to traditional coffee and matcha, containing anthocyanin antioxidants and dietary fibre.
Wholesale and Commercial
In response to interest from the food service industry, Ube Superfood has expanded its distribution channels to include wholesale access. The company has partnered with the B2B platform Faire to supply artisanal bakeries, speciality coffee shops, and wellness outlets.
This distribution model is designed to facilitate access for independent beverage operators, offering low minimum order quantities (MOQs). By providing a pure, syrup-free option, the company aims to support operators in incorporating ube into their menus without reliance on processed additives.
The move comes as the global food and beverage industry continues to shift toward clean-label ingredients, with operators seeking transparent sourcing and recognisable, nutrient-dense components to differentiate their menus.
