Functional wellness drinks brand Goodrays has broadened its beverage portfolio with the launch of a three-strong collection of alcohol-free lagers, marking the brand's commercial entry into the low-and-no beer category.

Developed in collaboration with craft brewer and social enterprise Brewgooder, the 0.0% ABV range debuts across three fruit and traditional lager expressions. Unlike Goodrays' core beverage portfolio, which is formulated around hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD), the new brewing lineup omits CBD entirely, utilising a functional blend of magnesium, lemon balm, and vitamin D.

The launch accelerates the brand's ongoing diversification programme beyond cannabinoid-infused drinks, targeting social evening occasions and the expanding UK market for functional adult non-alcoholic refreshments.

Brewing Collaboration and Functional Formulation

The project unites Goodrays' focus on relaxation and wellbeing ingredients with Brewgooder's craft brewing infrastructure.

Engineered to replicate the sensory mouthfeel and crisp finish of continental lagers, the beers are brewed to 0.0% ABV while retaining low-calorie specifications. The liquid formulation integrates three functional active nutrients chosen to promote calm and restorative wellbeing:

Magnesium: Incorporated to support electrolyte balance, muscle function, and reduction of fatigue.

Lemon Balm: A traditional botanical extract utilised in functional beverage applications to promote relaxation and cognitive ease.

Vitamin D: Formulated to deliver a daily dietary intake requirement, supporting immune defence and bone health.

By eliminating CBD from the formulation, the brand broadens accessibility across mainstream retail channels and corporate venues while circumventing regulatory constraints associated with novel food cannabinoid declarations.

Flavour Assortment and Pack Formats

The Goodrays Magnesium Alcohol-Free Beer lineup enters the market with three distinct varieties designed for standalone drinking and food accompaniment:

Cream-colored Goodrays Lemon Lager can with new label, 0.0% ABV, alcohol-free and low-calorie text on a black background.

🍺 Golden Lager (0.0% ABV): A classic continental-style lager delivering a balanced malt backbone, clean hop profile, and crisp, dry finish.

🍋 Lemon Lager (0.0% ABV): A citrus-led radler-style formulation pairing lager malt notes with refreshing, tart lemon juice extracts.

🍊 Grapefruit Lager (0.0% ABV): A crisp, fruit-forward lager blending subtle bitter hops with bright, aromatic pink grapefruit notes.

The range is packaged in standard single-serve cans and sold primarily in eight-pack configurations, priced at £16.50 on the brand's direct-to-consumer store.

Portfolio Diversification Beyond CBD

The introduction of alcohol-free lagers marks an operational extension of Goodrays' commercial portfolio beyond cannabis-derived wellness sodas.

Founded in the UK by Eoin Keenan, Goodrays established its initial footprint in CBD-infused sodas, gummies, and oils before expanding into broader functional and adaptogenic lines, such as its Re:Focus platform formulated with lion's mane mushroom and magnesium.

Entering the beer fixture allows the business to tap directly into peak social drinking dayparts, offering an alternative to traditional non-alcoholic brews by combining the refreshment profile of craft beer with the perceived mood-support benefits of botanical and mineral supplementation.

Commercial Availability

Goodrays Magnesium Alcohol-Free Beer has launched commercially through the brand's direct-to-consumer e-commerce portal, available as single-flavour eight-packs alongside recurring subscription options.

The brand intends to leverage its established retail and on-premise distribution relationships across the UK grocery sector, independent health stockists, and hospitality accounts to roll out the lager portfolio across physical retail shelves and licensed venues.
