Tulkoff Foods has officially acquired Celtrade Canada, uniting two prominent private label manufacturers in the sauce and condiment sector. The move creates a cross-border platform designed to provide custom flavour solutions for retail, foodservice, and industrial partners throughout North America.

The acquisition is intended to improve operational speed and reliability by leveraging combined manufacturing facilities in both the United States and Canada.

Enhanced R&D and Culinary Capacity

A primary driver for the acquisition is the integration of Celtrade’s innovation-focused Research and Development team. By combining Celtrade’s culinary talent with Tulkoff’s existing infrastructure, the enterprise aims to position itself as a leading provider of custom flavour solutions.

The merged R&D departments will focus on high-velocity discovery and the development of unique dressings, condiments, and complex flavour profiles. This "culinary horsepower" is expected to serve as a key differentiator for the company as it competes for large-scale industrial and retail contracts.

Diversified Packaging and Distribution Reach

The combined enterprise will offer a significantly broader range of packaging formats, addressing a critical need for versatility in the foodservice and retail channels. New and expanded capabilities include:

  • Specialised Formats: Introduction of tubs, sachets, and dip cups.

  • Segment Specificity: Enhanced ability to serve diverse applications across industrial and retail tiers.

  • Geographic Scale: A strengthened logistics network spanning the U.S.-Canada border.

Mike Kagan, CEO of Tulkoff Foods, noted that the acquisition follows a period of evaluating quality and innovation standards across the industry. Kagan stated that the move allows Tulkoff to deliver increased value through an expanded manufacturing footprint and a more robust product offering.

Chris Bouchard, President of Celtrade, characterised the merger as a complementary move for both organisations. Bouchard emphasised that the transition provides their collective customer base with greater production capacity and more varied pack size options.

Operational Transition

Tulkoff and Celtrade have signalled a focus on a seamless transition for existing partners. The move reflects a broader trend in the condiments and sauces category toward consolidation as manufacturers seek to offset supply chain complexities by scaling their R&D and production assets across multiple regions.

The enterprise will continue to prioritise customer-oriented solutions, utilising its expanded North American footprint to support high-volume industrial and retail demands starting immediately.
