Simply Spiked is diversifying its flavoured alcoholic beverage portfolio with the introduction of Simply Spiked Bolder. The new line debuts with a Strawberry Lemonade flavour, featuring a 12% alcohol by volume (ABV) profile and an innovative 7.5 oz mini-can format. This strategic launch aims to capture the growing consumer demand for higher-potency beverages while maintaining the brand's established flavour identity.
Portfolio Diversification and ABV Growth
The introduction of the Bolder line represents a significant shift in the Simply Spiked portfolio, which now spans an ABV range from 5% to 12%. By increasing the alcohol content, the brand is directly addressing a specific market segment of 21+ drinkers seeking amplified flavour profiles and higher ABV in the flavoured malt beverage category.
Liz Cramton, Senior Director of Marketing for Flavour and RTDs, noted that the brand is evolving alongside shifting consumer tastes. The strategy involves offering fruit-forward options across a broader range of potencies while delivering the consistent experience consumers expect from the core Simply Spiked lineup.
Small Format Strategy for Spontaneous Consumption
A key component of this launch is the 7.5 oz mini-can. This packaging choice is designed for portability and ease of sharing during group-oriented occasions such as festival seasons and outdoor events.
The move toward smaller, high-ABV containers allows retailers to offer a high-density flavour experience in a compact footprint. Simply Spiked Bolder will be available in 12-packs, a configuration intended to support volume sales for social gatherings and group celebrations nationwide.
Consistency in Flavour Profile and Ingredient Standards
Despite the increase in ABV, the Bolder line adheres to the brand's primary formulation standards. The product contains 5% real fruit juice that has been squeezed and then concentrated to maintain a refreshing finish.
The Strawberry Lemonade flavour was selected for the Bolder debut due to its performance as a top-selling variety in the brand's existing portfolio. By utilising a proven flavour profile, Simply Spiked aims to mitigate the risk associated with higher-ABV reformulations and ensure brand loyalty remains high among its core demographic.
