PepsiCo and quick-service restaurant (QSR) major KFC have announced the rollout of "KFC x Doritos Loaded," a limited-time co-branded menu platform expanding across 27 European markets.
Rolling out to participating KFC restaurants, mobile ordering applications, and delivery platforms throughout August 2026, the street food-inspired offering pairs KFC's 100 per cent chicken breast Crispy Tenders with Doritos corn tortilla chips, fresh toppings, and Mexican-inspired sauces.
The launch represents a major commercial milestone in PepsiCo's Away From Home strategy, showcasing how consumer packaged goods (CPG) snack brands can integrate into QSR foodservice operations at a regional scale.
Product Formulation
The menu platform translates classic street food assembly into a standardised QSR menu format designed for individual consumption and social sharing.
Assembled fresh to order, the product integrates several distinct ingredients and packaging specifications:
🍗 100% Chicken Breast Crispy Tenders: Freshly prepared chicken tenders providing the primary protein base.
🔺 Doritos Corn Tortilla Chips: Signature crunchy tortilla chips integrated to add texture and flavour contrast.
🥑 Fresh Toppings and Sauces: Layered with guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapeños, and Mexican-inspired sauces.
📦 Custom Packaging Tray: Assembled in a custom Doritos bag designed to open horizontally as a heat-retaining serving tray for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery channels.
Luiz Perl, Chief Marketing Officer at KFC Europe, stated that combining freshly prepared Crispy Tenders with Doritos crunch and fresh toppings creates a street food-inspired experience tailored for European consumers.
Partnership
The collaboration illustrates how global food and beverage brand owners leverage high-equity CPG IP to drive transaction frequency and average ticket sizes across foodservice networks.
By engineering a menu item that balances consumer appeal with fast kitchen assembly, both companies aim to capture afternoon, evening, and off-premise delivery dayparts.
Pol Codina, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Global Food Ventures at PepsiCo, noted that the launch demonstrates how PepsiCo is expanding its brand footprint beyond traditional grocery retail aisles. Codina added that working alongside KFC enabled the development of a menu platform combining consumer brand equity with the operational simplicity required for multi-country restaurant execution.
Availability
The dual-brand platform is structured to ensure operational consistency across diverse franchise systems and high-velocity kitchen environments across Europe.
Key commercial parameters of the launch include:
Reach: Deployment across 27 European countries through participating KFC restaurant locations.
Availability: Commercial availability spanning in-restaurant counter ordering, the official KFC mobile app, and third-party digital delivery partners.
Operational: Engineered for rapid assembly using standard kitchen infrastructure to maintain service speed during peak trading hours.
The commercial rollout provides both enterprises with a high-visibility platform to test cross-category menu integration ahead of future Away From Home joint initiatives across international markets.
