Bakery chain Milk Bar has announced a partnership with plant-based protein brand Beyond Meat to launch two limited-edition savoury menu items across its flagship locations in New York City and Los Angeles.
Running from 26 August through 5 October 2026, the collaboration marks Milk Bar's return to savoury menu offerings following a multi-year hiatus, translating Beyond Meat's plant-based sausage and meatball products into handheld bakery formats.
Plant-Forward Savoury Menu Integration
The limited-time offering (LTO) platform combines Beyond Meat's plant-based protein alternatives with Milk Bar's proprietary pastry and dough formulations, targeting flexitarian and plant-forward consumer demographics during morning and midday dayparts.
The two limited-edition menu items entering commercial availability include:
🍳 Beyond Breakfast Sausage & Egg Spiral: A flaky pastry spiral filled with Beyond Breakfast Sausage patty pieces, egg, and melted cheese.
🍝 Beyond Meatball Parm Roll: Beyond Meatballs, marinara sauce, onions, and melted cheese wrapped in baked dough.
Christina Tosi, Founder and Chef of Milk Bar, stated that the partnership offered an operational opportunity to explore savoury bakery menu development alongside a plant-based protein provider.
Collaboration
The collaboration expands Beyond Meat's foodservice footprint within high-profile bakery and QSR environments, introducing its plant-based protein lines to specialised foodservice touchpoints.
Danielle Armbrust, Vice President of Marketing at Beyond Meat, noted that partnering with established bakery operators supports the company's broader commercial goal of increasing plant-based accessibility across high-visibility foodservice venues.
To extend the reach of the promotion beyond physical flagship locations in New York and Los Angeles, Milk Bar and Beyond Meat are publishing home recipes for both menu items via MilkBarStore.com. The digital initiative enables consumers outside the physical store footprint to prepare the items, driving ingredient awareness and retail trial for Beyond Meat's product lines across grocery channels.
