Hormel Foods Corporation has reached a definitive agreement to sell its Brazilian operations, which function under the Ceratti brand, to Zanchetta Alimentos LTDA. The divestiture marks a step in Hormel Foods’ ongoing effort to simplify its portfolio and focus international strategy on markets identified for long-term growth.
Transaction Details
The agreement sees Zanchetta Alimentos, an established Brazilian food manufacturer, acquire the Ceratti business. The transaction is expected to conclude in the coming weeks, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Until the completion of the deal, business operations for Ceratti are expected to continue without disruption for employees and partners.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Hormel Foods has indicated that the sale is expected to have a minimal impact on its adjusted fiscal 2026 financial results.
Corporate Strategy
This divestment aligns with Hormel Foods’ broader objective to streamline its global business model. By exiting the Brazilian market via the Ceratti brand, the company aims to concentrate resources on regions that align more closely with its long-term growth targets.
Hormel Foods intends to provide further details regarding the transaction during its upcoming third-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings call.
