The Hershey Company is set to expand its confectionery portfolio with the US launch of Reese's Pieces with Chocolate Cookie, representing the first major product innovation for the brand in a decade.
Scheduled for nationwide retail release on 17 July 2026, the new product combines the brand’s traditional peanut butter-flavoured confectionery with a crispy chocolate cookie centre. This formulation is designed to address a growing consumer preference for multi-textured snacks that offer a combination of crunchy and creamy elements in a single bite-sized format.
According to Melissa Blette, Senior Brand Manager for Reese's at The Hershey Company, the introduction aims to deliver a fresh consumer experience while maintaining the core attributes of the established brand. Blette noted that the product balances the brand's traditional peanut butter flavour profile with a distinct textural contrast, creating a new format for the product line.
Products
The product formulation focuses on layering distinct textures and flavours to differentiate it from the traditional sugar-shelled peanut butter line:
🍪 Chocolate Cookie Centre: A crispy biscuit core that provides the primary structural crunch.
🥜 Peanut Butter Coating: The brand's signature creamy peanut butter-flavoured layer surrounding the biscuit core.
🟡 Candy Shell: A crisp, colourful outer glaze that delivers the traditional brand aesthetic.
Packaging Formats and Availability
The product will initially launch in pouch formats across United States retail networks on 17 July 2026. Following the physical retail rollout, the confectionery will be made available through the manufacturer's direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform on 25 July 2026.
Hershey has also confirmed plans to extend the product range with a larger king-size format, scheduled to enter distribution channels later in 2026. Retail pricing remains at the sole discretion of individual stockists.
