Kraft Heinz has expanded its seasonal sauces portfolio with the introduction of Heinz Chilli Bite Ketchup, a limited-edition condiment formulated specifically for the autumn trading period.
The SKU combines the brand’s core tomato ketchup base with an added kick of chilli heat, entering the market in what the company terms "scarily limited numbers". The product debuted online via the brand's proprietary Heinz to Home platform ahead of a nationwide rollout across UK supermarket accounts starting 29 September 2026.
"For many people, Halloween is no longer just one night – it has become a season of social gatherings, celebrations and sharing frightfully good food with friends," said Aditi Hilgers, Taste Elevation and Masterbrand Director at Kraft Heinz.
"It is also a great time for tasty new products, and Heinz has a long-standing history of making the most of the occasion by bringing playful, spine-chilling creations to the sauce shelves."
Formulation and Heat Profile
The product formulation is engineered to bridge traditional ambient table sauces with spicy condiments, balancing sweet and tangy notes with warming chilli heat.
Heinz designed the recipe to cater to heat-seeking consumers without deterring mainstream shoppers who prefer milder profiles. Positioned across hot meal accompaniments, party dipping platters, and seasonal sharing occasions, the condiment targets core comfort food applications including burgers, chips, and finger foods.
The launch builds on Kraft Heinz’s ongoing flavour diversification within table sauces. Previous limited-edition and permanent variants include Heinz Pickle Ketchup alongside curry, jalapeño, and firecracker formulations.
The seasonal debut reflects growing commercial investment in Halloween line extensions across the ambient food and drink sector.
According to Kantar Worldpanel data cited by the brand, UK Halloween consumer expenditure reached £2 billion in 2023, with approximately 91% of shoppers purchasing Halloween-related items. The expansion of holiday spending from a single evening into a multi-week social and domestic entertaining occasion has prompted condiment manufacturers to introduce temporary festive SKUs to drive impulse sales.
The introduction follows previous seasonal activations by Kraft Heinz, including its 2024 collaboration with PepsiCo’s snack brand Monster Munch to produce Monster Munch Mayo, which returned to retail chillers in September 2025 following strong consumer adoption.
Foodservice Integration with Honest Burgers
Alongside retail grocery listings, Kraft Heinz is deploying an on-premise foodservice activation to drive consumer trial.
Starting 6 October 2026, UK casual dining chain Honest Burgers will introduce a limited-edition Halloween menu featuring Heinz Chilli Bite Ketchup across all restaurant locations nationwide. The cross-channel collaboration enables the brand to showcase the sauce within professional kitchen preparations while increasing visibility across casual dining footfall.
Availability and Retail Rollout
Distribution for Heinz Chilli Bite Ketchup follows a phased multichannel schedule:
Direct-to-Consumer Launch: Initial digital purchasing commenced via Heinz to Home.
Grocery Multiples: Nationwide supermarket listings roll out from 29 September 2026, available while seasonal inventory lasts.
On-Premise Foodservice: Menu integration across all Honest Burgers locations begins 6 October 2026.
Kraft Heinz will market the limited-run SKU across retail and foodservice channels throughout the October trading window.
