Chicago-headquartered food manufacturer Egglife Foods, Inc. has announced the expansion of its refrigerated egg white wrap lineup with the launch of its newest flavour, Chocolate.

The new product is currently entering retail distribution in the United States, securing an exclusive nationwide listing with mass merchandiser Target.

The product rollout represents a category expansion for the company, which specialises in utilising egg whites rather than flour to manufacture alternative wraps. By introducing a chocolate variant, the brand aims to build on the commercial momentum of its existing sweet-profile wraps, capturing incremental sales within the refrigerated dairy, alternative bakery, and functional snack aisles.

Sweet Category Expansion and Market Momentum

The decision to expand Egglife's sweet product offerings follows strong retail performance metrics for its original sweet-profile wrap.

The company's Sweet Cinnamon variant was recently named a winner in the Good Housekeeping 2026 Snack Awards, validating the consumer transition toward high-protein, flour-free alternatives in traditional baking categories.

By scaling its dessert-inspired formulations, Egglife Foods is positioning its portfolio to capture daytime snacking, breakfast, and post-workout consumption occasions. This allows grocery partners to drive higher transaction values by merchandising alternative wraps alongside traditional refrigerated staples.

Technical Formulation and Nutrition

To align with clean-label standards and meet the dietary requirements of health-conscious shoppers, the new wraps are manufactured using a simplified ingredient deck.

The formulation utilises liquid egg whites and real cocoa, replacing artificial sweeteners with natural monk fruit extract to achieve a sweet taste profile without adding carbohydrates. The technical and nutritional specifications of the sweet portfolio include:

  • Protein Density – Each serving delivers 11 grams of highly bioavailable protein derived from egg whites.

  • Caloric Control – Formulated to contain 60 calories per wrap, providing a portion-controlled option for health-conscious shoppers.

  • Macro Balance – Contains zero grams of sugar and zero grams of trans fats, appealing to consumers managing metabolic health or following ketogenic and low-carb diets.

The brand's sweet functional portfolio now comprises two distinct, dessert-inspired configurations:

🍫 Chocolate – A rich cocoa-infused wrap naturally sweetened with monk fruit.

🍂 Sweet Cinnamon – An award-winning wrap seasoned with warm cinnamon and sweet notes.

Both products are manufactured to be naturally gluten-free and dairy-free, catering to consumers managing dietary exclusions.

Retail Distribution

Egglife Foods is leveraging its established relationship with Target to execute a highly targeted retail rollout for the summer trading window.

The Chocolate egg white wraps have entered physical Target locations nationwide, positioned within the refrigerated section adjacent to shell eggs. This merchandising placement is designed to catch the attention of high-frequency grocery shoppers seeking functional meal-prep ingredients.

The brand continues to focus its product development on using simple, egg-based structures to replace conventional grain-based foods, driving volume growth for retail partners in the competitive functional foods segment.
