The latest food and beverage industry news and trend analysis

Chobani has announced the strategic expansion of its product lineup with the debut of a new Chobani Flip Peanut Butter S’mores yoghurt. The launch is part of a coordinated seasonal rollout intended to capitalise on sustained consumer demand for indulgent, dessert-inspired flavour profiles within the functional snacking category.

The expansion of the "Flip" range reflects Chobani’s broader strategy to position yoghurt as a versatile snack and treat option, moving beyond traditional breakfast occasions. This latest SKU combines a peanut butter-flavoured base with chocolate and marshmallow-inspired mix-ins, utilising natural ingredients to maintain the brand’s clean-label standards.

Expansion of the Flip Range

The introduction of Peanut Butter S’mores signals Chobani’s intent to deepen its presence in the "permissible indulgence" sector. By integrating crunchy mix-ins with familiar confectionery flavours, the brand aims to appeal to shoppers seeking a bridge between healthy snacking and traditional desserts.

This strategy is driven by the performance of the Flip platform, which has become a significant driver of incremental growth for the company. The addition of high-flavour-intensity SKUs allows Chobani to compete more effectively with processed snacks and sweets while leveraging its core dairy expertise.

Cross Category Portfolio

Alongside the new yoghurt launch, Chobani is implementing a cross-category seasonal strategy by reintroducing popular items from its creamer and coffee divisions. This integrated approach ensures a cohesive brand presence across multiple aisles of the grocery store.

The returning seasonal favourites include:

  • Chobani S’mores Coffee Creamer: A limited-edition product formulated with real cream and a simple ingredient list, returning due to significant consumer demand in previous cycles.

  • La Colombe S’mores Latte: A ready-to-drink (RTD) offering from Chobani-owned La Colombe, featuring technical flavour notes of cocoa, graham cracker, and toasted marshmallow.

This multi-faceted rollout allows Chobani to own the "S’mores" flavour trend across the dairy, coffee, and functional beverage segments simultaneously.

Ingredient Quality

A key differentiator for these launches is the emphasis on ingredient integrity. Despite the indulgent flavour profiles, Chobani continues to prioritise "simple" and "natural" ingredients. The coffee creamer and RTD latte utilise real cream and cocoa, aligning with the "food-as-medicine" and clean-label trends that are currently dominating the premium dairy and beverage markets.

For B2B stakeholders, this reflects a move to professionalise the indulgence category. By providing products that deliver "treat" experiences without synthetic additives, Chobani is securing its position among health-conscious consumers who are unwilling to compromise on flavour.

Retail Availability

The complete seasonal portfolio, including the new Flip Peanut Butter S’mores and the returning coffee products, will be available at major national retailers starting in early April 2026.

The products are positioned as limited-time offerings (LTOs), a tactic frequently used by Chobani to create a sense of urgency and drive immediate trial. As the RTD coffee and functional snacking sectors continue to merge, these seasonal alignments provide a roadmap for how conglomerates can leverage subsidiary brands to dominate specific flavour trends.
