Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) has expanded its 500ml "Supercan" portfolio, rolling out the larger single-serve format across Sprite, Fanta Orange, and Dr Pepper nationwide.
The trio joins established 500ml variants across Coca-Cola Original Taste, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, and Diet Coke, alongside the recently announced addition of Coca-Cola Cherry. Packaged as individual 500ml aluminium cans with a recommended retail price (RRP) of £1.90, the format extension targets immediate-consumption missions and on-the-go refreshment across grocery and convenience chillers.
The rollout follows early commercial momentum for the format, with Nielsen market data indicating that 500ml cans across the core Coca-Cola trademark have generated £10.71 million in value sales and 303 million in volume (MAT to 8 August 2026).
Brand Editions and Packaging Formats
Each brand extension within the 500ml Supercan range incorporates distinctive visual identity and marketing campaign themes:
🏀 Sprite Super FAN Edition x NBA: Connects with the brand's established global basketball partnership, targeting sports and lifestyle occasions.
🍊 Fanta Orange Super FANta Edition: Adapts the brand's vibrant fruit profile into a large-format impulse can for daytime refreshment.
🤪 Dr Pepper Super Weird Edition: Translates the brand's long-running "Try More Weird" marketing platform into the larger single-serve fixture.
Rob Yeomans, Vice-President, Commercial Development at CCEP GB, stated that the initial launch of Supercan earlier in the year demonstrated clear commercial demand for format innovation in immediate consumption. Yeomans noted that the expansion is not intended to force a choice between cans and bottles, but rather to equip retailers with diverse options tailored to varying shopper occasions, creating a stronger branded presence across front-of-store chillers.
The expansion of the 500ml can architecture responds to evolving beverage merchandising dynamics, where operators seek to maximise unit revenue from chilled fixtures without disrupting core bottle sales.
With £10.71 million already generated across initial Coca-Cola trademark 500ml lines, CCEP is positioning the format as an incremental volume driver. Broadening the lineup to encompass flavoured carbonates and fruit-flavoured soft drinks enables retail stockists to offer.
