Carbone Fine Food has announced the launch of Carbone Italian Chilli Crisp, marking the brand's first commercial expansion beyond the pasta sauce category.

The new product line introduces two varieties: Calabrian Chilli Crisp and Aglio e Peperoncino. Formulated with a 100 per cent olive oil base alongside a blend of peppers, onions, and garlic, the condiment line provides a versatile finishing option designed to add flavour and crunch to pizza, pasta, grilled meats, fish, and vegetables.

The release marks a significant milestone in the company's retail growth, taking recipes inspired by popular dishes at Carbone restaurants into a new section of the grocery store.

Italian Chilli Crisp Formulations and Flavour Profiles

The Italian Chilli Crisp lineup translates flavour profiles from Carbone restaurants into two distinct shelf-stable varieties:

🌶️ Calabrian Chilli Crisp: Formulated with 100 per cent olive oil, Calabrian chilli, red bell pepper, onion, and garlic to deliver front-of-the-tongue heat balanced by crunch, richness, and subtle sweetness.

🧄 Aglio e Peperoncino: Inspired by a favourite dish on the Carbone restaurant menu, this milder variety combines 100 per cent olive oil with green bell pepper, hot pepper, onion, garlic, and parsley to provide a crisp, vegetal flavour profile with zest and crunch.

Mario Carbone, co-founder of Carbone Fine Food, stated that the brand's objective centres on enabling consumers to recreate restaurant experiences at home, adding that the Italian Chilli Crisp functions as a hero product to elevate everyday home dining.

Chef-Driven Brand Growth and Culinary Positioning

The introduction of Italian Chilli Crisp represents the next phase of commercial development for Carbone Fine Food, which established its national retail presence through premium pasta sauces following its founding in 2021.

By moving beyond red and white pasta sauces into speciality condiments, the brand is applying its culinary point of view to adjacent grocery fixtures.

Eric Skae, Chief Executive Officer of Carbone Fine Food, stated that moving beyond the sauce aisle represents a natural progression for the business as it continues to expand its grocery portfolio. Skae noted that the launch enables the company to deliver the restaurant experience through familiar yet distinct formats, continuing to build a pantry portfolio centred on quality and flavour.
