Kentucky producer Bardstown Bourbon Company has announced the nationwide release of two limited-edition autumn expressions: 2026 Discovery and Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish Whiskey.

Scheduled for commercial availability starting 21 August 2026, the releases mark a structural evolution in the brand's core product architecture. The annual Discovery Series transitions from numbered iterations to annual dated releases, while the Finishing Series expands its collaboration platform. Both expressions carry a suggested retail price (SRP) of US$139.99 per 750ml bottle.

Expression Profiles

The dual release explores distinct wood-finishing and blending methodologies, combining mature Kentucky bourbons with rare Scottish and Pacific Northwest cask finishing.

The two limited-edition SKUs entering distribution include:

🪵 2026 Discovery: A blend of 7-, 10-, and 11-year-old Kentucky bourbons finished for four months in custom-made Garryana oak (Oregon White Oak) barrels. Bottled at 112.8 proof (56.4 per cent ABV), the formulation incorporates dense Pacific Northwest wood structures to introduce spice and clove notes to the mature bourbon core.

🥃 Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish Whiskey: A bespoke blend of straight bourbon and rye finished for 32 months in 59-gallon ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks sourced from Scotland's Isle of Jura. Bottled at 104 proof (52 per cent ABV), the spirit earned 99 points at the 2026 International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).

Commissioned Visual Art Packaging

In tandem with the liquid formulations, Bardstown Bourbon Company has introduced bespoke label artwork created by Louisville artist Margaret Archambault. The original paintings translate the sensory characteristics, aromas, and flavour profiles of each whiskey into visual artwork featured directly on the bottles and outer secondary packaging.

Retail Availability and Distribution

The 2026 Discovery and Lochs of Jura Barrel Finish expressions will commence limited physical and e-commerce distribution across the United States on 21 August 2026.
