ADM has partnered with humanitarian organisation Convoy of Hope to establish the ADM Cares Disaster Response Fund, a dedicated initiative delivering critical nutrition and emergency relief to communities impacted by natural disasters.
Operating under ADM Cares, the company's social investment and sustainability arm, the fund focuses on bolstering emergency food security in regions recovering from extreme weather events, including hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. The initiative deploys shelf-stable meal kits designed to provide survivors with immediate nutritional support during the acute phases of crises.
"ADM is proud to join forces with Convoy of Hope to help communities prepare for and respond to disasters," said Jennifer Ballinger, Director of ADM Cares. "Together, we can be there when it matters most and support our colleagues, neighbours and communities around the world. We’re committed to helping sustain and strengthen the places where ADM colleagues work and live."
Emergency Nutrition and Meal Kit Deployment
The establishment of the dedicated fund formalises an ongoing collaborative relationship between the agricultural merchant and the international relief agency, timing its launch alongside the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season.
Through the fund, Convoy of Hope coordinates logistics and on-the-ground distribution networks to deliver curated food parcels and essential provisions to displacement shelters, regional staging grounds, and isolated rural zones. The meal kits are formulated to deliver shelf-stable calories and vital micronutrients without requiring immediate cooking infrastructure or refrigeration, which are frequently disrupted following severe meteorological events.
"Convoy of Hope is incredibly grateful for this partnership with ADM," said Ethan Forhetz, Vice President of Public Engagement at Convoy of Hope. "When Convoy responds to disasters in Venezuela, Colombia, Nepal, Oklahoma and elsewhere in the world, we do so with the support and generosity of ADM. As survivors are experiencing devastating loss, they are receiving help and hope from ADM and Convoy of Hope."
Employee Engagement and Corporate Matching
Alongside direct balance-sheet allocations from ADM, the fund incorporates a structured employee contribution mechanism.
Under the programme, ADM personnel can direct personal charitable gifts into the Disaster Response Fund, with ADM Cares providing matching corporate grants to double the financial impact of internal donations. The initiative also coordinates volunteer deployments, enabling local staff to assist with relief assembly, warehousing logistics, and community food drives within affected operating territories.
International Deployment and Supply Chain Footprint
The formal launch builds on preliminary disaster relief missions conducted earlier this year across North and South America.
In April, ADM and Convoy of Hope deployed emergency relief teams and food supplies to Enid, Oklahoma, following severe tornado damage to municipal and agricultural infrastructure. In August, the organisations mobilised resources to western Colombia following an earthquake that damaged local supply routes and housing.
By embedding corporate giving frameworks directly into global relief partnerships, agricultural and food processing corporations are increasingly integrating emergency humanitarian aid into wider supply chain resilience and community stewardship strategies.
