The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) has inaugurated a 67,000-square-foot Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune, Maharashtra, marking the completion of its most technologically advanced Global Business Solutions (GBS) facility globally.

Inaugurated in the presence of the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, the new operating hub follows a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Government of Maharashtra in April 2025.

The site is engineered to scale digital capabilities, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation across the multinational enterprise's worldwide manufacturing, logistics, and commercial divisions.

Global Operations and Digital Capability Architecture

The Pune facility will serve as a central intelligence and execution engine, providing back-office and operational services across TMICC’s international network.

The multidisciplinary centre integrates enterprise-wide operational functions spanning:

Procurement and Supply Chain: Directing global sourcing analytics, inventory forecasting, and end-to-end supply network monitoring.

Finance and Master Data: Streamlining international financial accounting, treasury operations, and unified master data governance.

Advanced Analytics and Automation: Deploying enterprise AI algorithms, process automation, and machine-learning models to optimise production and logistical workflows.

Marketing Support: Centralising digital asset distribution, regional brand analytics, and commercial execution platforms.

Abhijit Bhattacharya, Chief Financial Officer of The Magnum Ice Cream Company, stated that the opening represents an operational step in TMICC's long-term growth roadmap, noting that the Pune-based workforce will power global business operations while accelerating digital transformation. Bhattacharya highlighted that the inauguration serves as the initial phase of a multi-stage commitment to talent acquisition, technology development, and local partnerships in Maharashtra.

Infrastructure in Maharashtra

The commissioning of the Pune GCC strengthens TMICC's operational presence across the state of Maharashtra, which currently accounts for two-thirds of the company's total workforce in India.

The enterprise operates a multi-facility network across the region:

Mumbai: Operates as the company's corporate and commercial headquarters for the Indian market.

Nashik: Houses large-scale manufacturing infrastructure producing the group's Kwality Wall's brand portfolio.

Pune: Functions as the global technology, shared services, and capability anchor.

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, noted that TMICC's long-term investment reflects the state's growing role as a destination for international capability centres, driven by access to specialised technical talent, transport infrastructure, and supportive commercial regulatory frameworks.

The launch was also attended by Dr P. Anbalagan, Principal Secretary for Industries, Investment & Services, and Kaustubh Dhavse, Investment & Policy Adviser to the Chief Minister, both of whom confirmed the state's continued alignment with foreign direct investment in food and dairy processing services.

Upstream Sourcing and Dairy Supply Chains

Alongside its digital and enterprise services, the company's expanded footprint in India supports broader supply chain and agricultural sustainability initiatives, including the Caring Dairy project.

The upstream initiative collaborates directly with regional dairy farming communities, focusing on raw milk quality improvement, herd welfare standards, and carbon footprint mitigation across agricultural value chains.

By unifying industrial ice cream processing in Nashik with centralised analytical and digital governance in Pune, TMICC establishes an integrated regional operational model to support both domestic market growth and international supply reliability.
