Tesco has announced strategic partnerships with delivery platforms Uber Eats and Deliveroo, bringing thousands of grocery items, fresh produce lines, and everyday essentials to third-party app users across the United Kingdom.

The integration marks the first time Tesco will extend its Clubcard loyalty benefits, including promotional Clubcard Prices and loyalty point accumulation, to purchases made through external aggregator platforms.

Multi-Channel Delivery Strategy and Aggregator Integration

The partnership with Uber Eats is scheduled to go live in August 2026, with the Deliveroo rollout following later in the summer. Through these launches, third-party platform users will gain access to Tesco’s extensive grocery inventory, fulfilled directly from local store networks.

Ashwin Prasad, Chief Executive Officer of Tesco UK, stated that combining Tesco's product range and value proposition with the customer reach of Uber Eats and Deliveroo allows the retailer to engage consumers across preferred digital touchpoints.

Saskia De Jongh, Vice President at Uber Eats, noted that the platform reaches over 90 per cent of the UK population, supporting increased demand for rapid, on-demand grocery delivery.

Rob Harris, Vice President Merchant and Chief Revenue Officer at Deliveroo, added that incorporating Tesco and its Clubcard loyalty mechanics delivers enhanced value to on-demand grocery shoppers.

Clubcard Integration

A central feature of the collaboration is the digital integration of Tesco’s Clubcard infrastructure into the checkout processes of both Uber Eats and Deliveroo:

🏷️ Clubcard Discounts: Shoppers can access promotional Clubcard Prices across hundreds of grocery items directly within third-party applications.

💳 Points Accumulation: Customers collect standard Clubcard loyalty points on all Tesco orders placed through the partner apps.

🛒 Store-Level Fulfilment: Orders are picked and dispatched directly from nearby Tesco Express and superstore locations.

Whoosh

The new aggregator partnerships build upon the rapid expansion of Tesco’s proprietary quick-commerce service, Whoosh. Launched in 2021, Whoosh provides store-to-door delivery in as little as 20 minutes across approximately 1,800 stores, reaching over 70 per cent of the UK population.

Whoosh operational metrics include:

  • Sales Growth: Recorded a 51 per cent increase in annual sales over the past financial year.

  • Active User Base: Serving approximately 1.5 million active customers nationwide.

  • Flexible Formats: Expanded to offer same-day scheduled delivery windows, no minimum spend limits, and larger basket fulfilment from more than 250 larger Tesco stores.

Whoosh operates alongside Tesco’s primary online grocery home shopping service, which delivers over 1.2 million orders per week and covers more than 99 per cent of the UK population.

Financial Performance

The delivery expansion coincides with continued growth across Tesco’s digital retail ecosystem:

  • Online Grocery Sales: Total annual online sales reached £7.5 billion during the 2025/26 financial year, representing an 11 per cent year-on-year increase.

  • Tesco Marketplace: Following its 2024 launch, average weekly marketplace traffic more than doubled over the past year, with average basket spend increasing by roughly 90 per cent.

  • F&F Online: Launched in 2025, total sales for the F&F clothing brand exceeded £1 billion, growing at 5.1 per cent over the 2025/26 period.
