Starbucks has expanded its ready-to-drink (RTD) portfolio across the United Kingdom with the nationwide rollout of two permanent matcha lattes alongside a limited-edition Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino.
The launch marks the first time Starbucks has brought both its matcha tea platform and its seasonal Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino format into the UK chilled liquid refreshment and grocery channels.
The product releases address continuous consumer demand for functional tea alternatives, fruit-infused cold beverages, and seasonal coffee offerings within convenience and mass-market grocery environments.
Ready-to-Drink Lineup
The addition of the matcha platform introduces green tea options to Starbucks' permanent RTD range, while the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino translates one of the brand's primary seasonal coffeehouse offerings into a shelf-stable, chilled bottle.
The new product portfolio includes three distinct SKU variations:
🍵 Starbucks Matcha Latte: Combines milk with matcha green tea to create a smooth, balanced liquid tea base, entering the core chilled drinks range as a permanent SKU.
🍓 Starbucks Strawberry Matcha Latte: Pairs milk and matcha green tea with sweet strawberry flavouring to provide a fruit-forward variation for the permanent RTD range.
🎃 Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino: Combines signature Starbucks coffee with milk and autumn pumpkin spice flavouring, packaged in a bottle featuring seasonal artwork.
EMEA Beverage Expansion
The expansion highlights how global coffee operators are leveraging established in-store menu profiles to scale their presence across high-velocity retail chilled aisles.
Charlotta Oldham, Marketing Director for EMEA at Starbucks, stated that the additions aim to provide consumers with expanded beverage choices across convenient daily dayparts. Oldham noted that the Matcha Latte range celebrates the distinct taste profile of green tea for year-round consumption, while the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino captures the autumn flavour profiles associated with the Starbucks brand.
Retail Distribution and Pricing
The core and seasonal RTD ranges have commenced commercial availability across primary UK grocery and retail distribution networks:
Matcha Latte Formats: Both the Matcha Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte are entering permanent distribution across UK supermarkets and grocery stockists at a suggested retail price of £2.00 per unit.
Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino: Positioned as a short-run seasonal LTO, the bottled Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino carries a retail price point of £2.20 and is currently rolling out across Sainsbury's, SPAR, and major UK stockists while supplies last.
The dual-platform release supports Starbucks' broader retail strategy of using multi-category RTD innovation to drive consumer frequency outside traditional coffeehouse locations.
