Ritter Sport and Haribo have partnered to launch their first co-branded product in the United Kingdom, combining Ritter Sport milk chocolate with Haribo Balla Bites sweets in a limited-edition 100g bar.
Rolling out to retail stockists nationwide from September 2026, the release unites two major European confectionery brand owners in a cross-category collaboration combining chocolate and fruit-flavoured chewy confectionery.
Product Formulation
The limited-edition block combines Ritter Sport's core milk chocolate with the multi-textured profile of Haribo Balla Bites.
The fruit-flavoured chewy Balla Bites pieces embedded within the milk chocolate matrix feature four distinct taste profiles:
🍓 Strawberry: Sweet and fruity strawberry flavour notes wrapped in a chewy gummy casing.
🍒 Cherry: Tart and sweet cherry flavour profile.
🍏 Apple: Crisp green apple fruit flavour notes.
🍋 Lemon: Bright, zesty citrus lemon flavour.
The combination of smooth milk chocolate with chewy, fruity sweet pieces introduces a dual-texture format designed to engage consumers seeking novel confectionery choices.
Retail Availability
The commercial rollout is backed by the largest retail activation programme in Ritter Sport UK's history, targeting expanded brand reach across mass grocery, wholesale, and independent convenience channels.
Key operational metrics and distribution parameters of the deployment include:
Retail Display Units: Deployment of more than 4,500 branded shipper display units to secure front-of-store and aisle-end visibility across UK stockists.
Distribution Points: Expansion across 21,000 total distribution points spanning UK grocery, wholesale, and convenience sectors.
Shopper Recruitment Target: Structured to introduce more than one million new consumers to the Ritter Sport brand portfolio.
Marketing Framework: Supported by the "Happiness Squared" promotional campaign rolling out across point-of-sale retail touchpoints.
The partnership combines the brand equity of both European confectionery majors to drive trial and category volume across the chocolate and sugar confectionery aisles.
Benedict Daniels, Managing Director of Ritter Sport UK & Ireland, stated that the co-branded release represents a major investment in scaling the brand's UK presence, noting that bringing millions of limited-edition bars to market supported by expanded retail distribution provides stockists with a launch designed to energise the block chocolate set.
Phil Murphy, Chief Marketing Officer of Haribo UK & Ireland, added that combining Haribo Balla Bites with Ritter Sport milk chocolate provides UK shoppers with an accessible format to experience cross-category innovation from two established confectionery brand owners.
The limited-edition Ritter Sport x Haribo Balla Bites 100g chocolate block will commence physical retail availability across UK supermarket networks, convenience stores, and wholesale stockists starting in September 2026.
