Food and beverage major PepsiCo has announced the commercial launch of Alvalle gazpacho in the United States, marking a portfolio expansion into the fresh, refrigerated foods sector.

The introduction brings the established European chilled soup brand into the North American market, entering retail deli and chilled aisles to capture consumer demand for ready-to-eat, ingredient-forward meal options.

Available in select Whole Foods Market locations, the launch aligns with broader PepsiCo strategies to diversify product offerings beyond traditional packaged snacks and shelf-stable beverages into meal-adjacent fresh categories.

Product Formulation and Ingredients

Rooted in traditional Spanish culinary methods, Alvalle is manufactured as a chilled, ready-to-eat liquid soup packaged for convenient consumption across lunch, snacking, and dinner dayparts.

The product formulation is built around a minimal ingredient deck featuring raw vegetables and premium oil:

🍅 Sun-Ripened Tomatoes: Formulated as the primary vegetable base to deliver an authentic Mediterranean profile.

🥒 Fresh Cucumbers: Blended to provide crisp, refreshing notes to the chilled soup matrix.

🫑 Sweet Peppers: Integrated to balance natural acidity and enhance vegetable depth.

🫒 Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Incorporated to provide smooth mouthfeel, texture, and healthy lipid content.

Pol Codina, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Food Ventures at PepsiCo, stated that the brand addresses consumer demand for recognisable, ingredient-forward foods that fit into everyday eating routines.

The U.S. deployment of Alvalle reflects shifting retail dynamics where the perimeter chilled aisle continues to serve as a primary growth driver for grocery stockists.

By introducing a ready-to-eat Mediterranean cold soup, PepsiCo is positioning its portfolio to capture rising consumer interest in fresh, minimally processed meal solutions that require zero preparation time.

Marisa Perez, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Fresh Experiences Portfolio at PepsiCo Foods U.S., noted that consumer eating habits continue to evolve toward options that combine convenience, quality, and traditional flavour profiles, adding that Alvalle provides a versatile format for weekday lunches, afternoon dayparts, and warm-weather dining.

Retail Distribution

Alvalle has commenced physical retail distribution across select Whole Foods Market locations throughout the United States.

The retail placement leverages Whole Foods' established reputation for natural, premium foods, providing the brand with high visibility among shoppers actively seeking fresh, ready-to-eat grocery options.

The rollout provides PepsiCo with an established commercial footprint in the U.S. chilled aisle, establishing a foundation for potential portfolio scaling across mass retail and speciality channels in future distribution waves.
