Speciality coffee chain Peet's Coffee has expanded its functional beverage menu with the launch of Black Cherry Sparkling Energy, developed in partnership with premium carbonated mixer brand Q Mixers.
Rolling out throughout November and December across participating Peet's Coffee retail coffee bars nationwide, the seasonal offering pairs high-carbonation Q Club Soda with tart black cherry flavouring, 80 milligrams of plant-derived caffeine, and fortified B vitamins. The introduction marks the fourth seasonal iteration within Peet's ongoing Sparkling Energy platform, following earlier line releases including Sparkling Watermelon, Strawberry Energy, and autumn's Green Apple Energy.
The commercial rollout highlights how quick-service coffee chains are deploying premium, craft-positioned sparkling mixers to capture non-coffee energy and daytime hydration occasions, using carbonated functional drinks to lift ticket sizes during the fourth-quarter holiday trading period.

The beverage formulation centres on the carbonation mechanics and salinity profile of Q Club Soda, which comprises the primary liquid volume of each finished serve:
🍒 Black Cherry Sparkling Energy: Combines juicy, tart black cherry flavour notes with 80mg of clean, plant-derived caffeine and an essential B-vitamin complex, mixed with high-intensity Q Club Soda.
🫧 High-Carbonation Matrix: Formulated to match the bubble density of champagne, providing high effervescence engineered to preserve carbonation and mouthfeel over extended drinking durations.
🧂 Mineral Balancing: Formulated using a clean two-ingredient base of carbonated water and Himalayan pink salt, designed to enhance the perception of underlying fruit acids and natural aromatics without adding calories or refined sweeteners.
