Food ingredients manufacturer Patco Products has announced the commercial launch of Starplex Nova, the debut product in its new Nova NextGen Emulsifier platform.
Engineered to support food manufacturers seeking greater operational flexibility in clean-label formulations, the ingredient provides functional emulsification performance across a range of food matrices. Developed and manufactured at Patco Products' production facility in Grandview, Missouri, the launch marks the company's latest technical investment in formulation performance and customer support for bakery and tortilla manufacturers.
The release introduces the first commercial grade within the broader Nova portfolio, which will focus on application-specific emulsification systems tailored to individual production environments rather than a single formulation across diverse food categories.
Application-Specific Clean-Label Architecture
The development of Starplex Nova addresses technical reformulation hurdles encountered by commercial bakers and food processors transitioning away from traditional emulsifier systems.
By designing the Nova NextGen platform around category-specific requirements, the enterprise aims to provide functional stability and process tolerance without compromising the sensory or structural characteristics of finished goods.
Richard McEvoy, Chief Executive Officer of Patco Products, stated that the launch reflects the organisation's long-term commercial direction, built on collaborating directly with manufacturing partners to resolve real-world processing challenges by combining technical formulation expertise with production agility.
Alyssa Cunnington, Chief Commercial Officer at Patco Products, noted that industrial food manufacturers require ingredient partners who understand shop-floor realities and time-to-market constraints. Cunnington added that Starplex Nova NextGen was formulated to help processors simplify the reformulation process while maintaining product performance standards on high-throughput lines.
Commercial Trials and Production Consistency
To validate performance under standard factory conditions, Patco Products' research, development, and innovation teams conducted extensive internal pilot runs alongside commercial plant trials.
The evaluation process focused on verifying batch-to-batch consistency, dough rheology, shelf-life stability, and finished product texture across bakery and tortilla lines.
Enyam Alamu-Lumor, Director of R&D and Innovation at Patco Products, stated that the technical development programme prioritised dependable, predictable performance between ingredient lots, ensuring commercial operations can scale production without unexpected variance.
Industry Showcase and Market Deployment
Patco Products is deploying the Nova NextGen platform across North American and international trade channels through its dedicated technical sales and key account networks.
The commercial rollout will be supported by technical webinars and live ingredient demonstrations across major industry trade events, including the Food Tech Summit in Mexico City and SupplySide West in Las Vegas.
The platform launch equips industrial processors with a functional clean-label emulsification alternative engineered to meet heightened consumer scrutiny over ingredient decks while preserving commercial processing efficiency.
