Organic Valley, the farmer-owned organic cooperative, has announced the launch of its new Organic Valley Snack Sticks. This development marks the company's entry into the individually wrapped organic cheese snack segment, aiming to address consumer demand for portable, high-protein options.
Product Specifications and Formulation
The new line is produced using milk from pasture-raised cows on organic family farms. The company states that the product adheres to organic production standards, including the exclusion of antibiotics, artificial growth hormones, toxic pesticides, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The snacks are formulated to meet various dietary requirements and are designated as follows:
Vegetarian-friendly
Nut-free
Gluten-free
Each serving provides 5g of protein. The sticks are packaged in 4.5 oz. units containing six individually wrapped 0.75 oz. sticks, with a suggested retail price of $5.49.
Rollout and Market Positioning
The launch includes two primary varieties, addressing the growing market for convenient dairy snacks suited for lunchbox or on-the-go consumption:
Colby Jack (currently available nationwide)
Medium Cheddar (launching in July)
By expanding its product portfolio into the snack sticks category, Organic Valley intends to leverage its established market position in organic dairy to reach consumers seeking convenient nutrition.
