North American beverage supplier Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee has opened its new Complete Extract Solutions production facility in Mississauga, Ontario. Housed within the company's existing 320,000-square-foot footprint, the purpose-built operation marks an expansion into liquid coffee extracts and aseptic processing.
The facility is engineered to support commercial-volume production across foodservice, retail, private-label, and industrial channels, providing liquid coffee concentrates, cold brew formats, and ingredient extracts across Canada and the United States.
Cold Coffee Growth
The facility opening addresses expanding commercial demand for cold coffee formats across North American foodservice and retail channels.
According to Circana CREST data for the 12 months ending December 2025, cold coffee servings represented nearly one quarter of total coffee servings in Canadian quick-service restaurants, rising two percentage points compared to 2024. Among consumers aged 18 to 24 in Canadian quick-service restaurants, cold coffee accounted for more than half of all coffee servings.
Industry forecasting from Technomic indicates that total cold coffee finished gallon volume in US foodservice is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.2 per cent from 2025 to 2030.
Integrated Extract Platform Capabilities
To assist commercial partners with product development, storage, and supply chain logistics, the platform unifies manufacturing operations into a single location.
Key functional capabilities of the Mississauga facility include:
☕ Complete Process Integration: Combines raw bean sourcing, roasting, extraction, aseptic processing, packaging, and commercial-scale manufacturing.
🧊 Aseptic Shelf Stability: Utilises aseptic processing technology to produce liquid extracts that remain shelf-stable prior to opening, simplifying ambient storage and distribution networks.
🏭 Multi-Channel Format Flexibility: Formulates cold brew, iced coffee, liquid concentrates, and industrial ingredient extracts for ready-to-drink, foodservice, and food manufacturing applications.
🔬 Technical Product Development: Offers sensory evaluation, custom formulation testing, and analytical research capabilities to accelerate commercialisation timelines.
Danielle Barran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee, stated that the investment was structured to provide scalable manufacturing solutions for cold coffee and extract applications, delivering operational simplicity and product consistency across North American markets.
Support and Regional Investment
The platform represents a multi-million-dollar capital investment, supported by CAD $5 million in provincial funding provided through the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness stream of Ontario's Regional Development Program.
Established in Ontario in 1912, Mother Parkers operates manufacturing and development facilities across Canada and the United States, producing proprietary brands including Higgins & Burke Tea and Martinson Coffee alongside large-scale private-label manufacturing operations.
