Emergency services were called to a fire at a Coca-Cola manufacturing and production facility in Auckland, New Zealand, on Wednesday afternoon.
Approximately 50 firefighters and 10 emergency crews were deployed to the industrial site located on Carbine Road in Mount Wellington following initial emergency calls. Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) confirmed that first responders arrived at the scene at 4:18 pm local time after smoke and flames were detected originating from the second floor of the main production facility.
The blaze was brought under control and extinguished within several hours, with all emergency response units demobilising and clearing the industrial zone by 8:45 pm.
Emergency Response and Incident Management
The multi-unit industrial response brought together specialist fire appliances from across the Auckland metropolitan area to contain the second-floor fire and prevent structural spread to adjacent bottling lines, packaging halls, and raw material storage areas.
Fire and Emergency Northern shift manager Nadine Davies confirmed that the incident required a co-ordinated deployment of 10 crews to suppress the flames and conduct ventilation operations across the multi-level facility.
During the emergency response, the New Zealand Professional Firefighters Union noted that a high-reach aerial appliance deployed from the Parnell station experienced an operational fault with its outrigger stabilisers, requiring mechanical support on site while ground-level teams completed primary extinguishment.
Site Handover and Incident Investigation
Following the successful suppression of the fire, a FENZ fire investigator completed a preliminary inspection of the affected second-floor area.
Authorities confirmed that the blaze is not being treated as suspicious. Formal control of the commercial property was returned to site owners and management late Wednesday evening to allow internal technical teams to begin structural assessments and evaluate remediation requirements.
No injuries to site personnel or emergency service staff were reported in connection with the incident.
Operational and Industrial Infrastructure
The Carbine Road facility in Mount Wellington serves as a central manufacturing, bottling, and regional distribution hub for Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) in New Zealand.
The industrial operation houses automated processing and high-speed bottling lines responsible for packaging carbonated soft drinks, ready-to-drink beverages, waters, and functional drinks for commercial grocery, convenience, and foodservice accounts throughout the country.
Site management and engineering teams are conducting internal technical evaluations across electrical, utility, and ventilation infrastructure to confirm operating integrity before clearing the affected areas for normalised manufacturing and logistics workflows.
