Quick-service restaurant major McDonald's Corporation has announced the appointment of Skye Anderson as President of McDonald's USA, effective immediately.

Anderson, a 26-year veteran of the McDonald's system who most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for the US business, succeeds Joe Erlinger following his decision to step down after leading the domestic market for nearly seven years.

In her new position, Anderson assumes operational and commercial oversight of nearly 14,000 restaurant locations across the United States. The executive transition comes as the enterprise advances its global growth strategy, McDonald's NEXT, focusing on store-level operational execution, value positioning, and long-term franchisee profitability across its largest market.

Executive Leadership Transition

The appointment follows a structured leadership succession plan initiated earlier in the year when Anderson returned to McDonald's USA as Chief Operating Officer to oversee national operations and prepare for the primary market leadership role.

Chris Kempczinski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of McDonald's Corporation, stated that Anderson combines operational discipline with strong financial judgment, noting her established record of driving corporate transformations and managing complex franchise supply networks.

Operational Milestones

Bringing more than two decades of multi-disciplinary experience within the McDonald's organisation, Anderson has led key corporate, operational, and financial divisions globally and across North America:

• US West Zone Operational Leadership: Managed a regional footprint of more than 5,700 restaurants, overseeing modernisations that contributed to comparable sales growth exceeding 30 per cent.

• Unit Cash Flow Optimisation: Increased average unit cash flow by $100,000 per restaurant location across her operational territory during her tenure as head of the US West Zone.

• Global Business Services: Led the establishment and operational design of the company's centralised Global Business Services division.

• Chief Operating Officer Role: Directed restaurant operations, field execution, and franchisee alignment across the national US footprint prior to her appointment as President.

Leadership and Transition

Outgoing President Joe Erlinger will work alongside Anderson over the coming months to execute a seamless leadership transition, remaining in an advisory role with the enterprise through early 2027.

During Erlinger's seven-year tenure leading McDonald's USA, the domestic business expanded its digital ordering infrastructure, scaled loyalty program integration, and navigated major operational restructurings across its franchise network.

The executive shift underlines McDonald's ongoing focus on operational discipline, menu value alignment, and system-wide execution across its primary commercial market.
