Local Favorite Restaurants has acquired Cotton Patch Cafe, a 46-unit casual dining operator, from Altamont Capital Partners. The acquisition integrates the Texas-based comfort food concept into Local Favorite’s existing portfolio of regional restaurant brands.
The transaction, for which financial terms were not disclosed, was facilitated by Harrington Park Advisors, acting as the exclusive financial advisor to Cotton Patch Cafe.
Performance and Operational Focus
Cotton Patch Cafe, founded in 1989, currently operates restaurants across Texas and New Mexico. Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Brandon Coleman III, the company has reported six consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales and traffic growth.
The brand's operational strategy has focused on streamlining guest experiences and implementing competitive pricing, notably through the introduction of its $9.99 Texas Value Meals. This focus on everyday value and consistent operational execution within the casual dining segment has been cited as a driver for recent performance.
Portfolio Integration
The acquisition brings Cotton Patch Cafe into the Local Favorite platform, which manages a suite of community-focused brands including El Fenix Mexican Restaurant, Snuffer's Restaurant & Bar, Meso Maya, Taqueria La Ventana, Wok Star Chinese, Campuzano Mexican Food, Twisted Root Burger Company, and Village Burger Bar.
Mike Karns, Founder and Free-Range Creative of Local Favorite Restaurants, noted that the alignment between the two organisations is rooted in the brand's local presence and guest-focused model.
Brandon Coleman III will continue to oversee the brand as it joins the Local Favorite portfolio, which plans to leverage its existing operational and real estate infrastructure to support the continued development of the Cotton Patch Cafe concept.
