Global frozen potato products manufacturer Lamb Weston Holdings has announced plans to close its production facility in Broekhuizenvorst, the Netherlands.
The closure is designed to align the company's global supply chain footprint with changing market conditions and forms part of its wider operational efficiency programmes.
According to Sylvia Wilks, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Lamb Weston, the consolidation is necessary to ensure the long-term resilience and competitiveness of the firm's global manufacturing network. She noted that the decision will allow the company to improve overall operational efficiency and better align its manufacturing capacity with customer demand.
Works Council Consultation and Regulatory Compliance
In accordance with Dutch labour regulations, Lamb Weston will now initiate a formal consultation process with the local Works Council regarding the proposed shutdown.
The company has stated its commitment to conducting the regulatory dialogue in an open and constructive manner, with further details regarding the timeline and execution of the closure to be communicated once this process concludes.
The planned closure will impact approximately 110 employees at the Broekhuizenvorst site. Lamb Weston has committed to supporting all affected staff members throughout the transition phase, ensuring they are treated with fairness and respect in full compliance with local laws and regulations.

The decision to close the Dutch processing plant aligns with the ongoing execution of Lamb Weston's "Focus to Win" business strategy.
