Laird Superfood has announced the launch of Protein Matcha, an instant iced matcha latte mix containing dairy-based protein. This product line follows the recent introduction of the company's Protein Coffee, reflecting a strategic focus on integrating high-protein formulations into its functional beverage portfolio.
The launch addresses growing consumer interest in products that combine traditional caffeine rituals with additional nutritional benefits, including hydration and focus. By incorporating both caffeine and electrolytes, the company is positioning the beverage as a solution for consumers seeking sustained energy and support for active lifestyles.
Ingredient formulation
The Protein Matcha range is formulated to provide 10 grams of milk protein per serving. In addition to the protein base, the mixes include specific functional ingredients:
Matcha green tea, providing 70 to 90 milligrams of caffeine, depending on the variant.
Lion's mane mushroom, included for cognitive support.
Coconut water powder and sea salt, utilised to support hydration through natural electrolytes.
The product is designed for cold preparation, requiring the mix to be combined with cold water or milk, frothed or shaken, and served over ice.
Product range
The Protein Matcha line is available in the following flavours:
🍵 Original
🍓 Strawberry
🪻 Lavender
Market availability
Laird Superfood has listed the new range on its direct-to-consumer website at a price point of $18 per unit. The company intends to expand distribution to Amazon at a future date. The existing vegan "Matcha Instant Latte with Adaptogens," which utilises coconut milk powder, will remain in the brand's portfolio.
