Hand-cooked crisp brand Kettle Chips has expanded its seasonal portfolio with the introduction of its 2026 festive limited-edition variant, Beef Bourguignon & Winter Herbs.

Developed in collaboration with chef, television presenter, and cookbook author Rachel Khoo, the seasonal SKU translates the traditional French slow-cooked beef stew into an ambient savoury snack format. The product is scheduled to arrive across UK grocery shelves from late September through the end of December 2026.

Packaged in a 130g sharing bag format, the product enters retail at a recommended retail price (RRP) of £2.65, supported by promotional pricing of £1.65 across participating grocery accounts.

Culinary Collaboration and Recipe Formulation

The recipe was formulated in partnership with Khoo to deliver an alpine-inspired flavour profile using real ingredients and natural flavourings. The seasoning blend replicates the components of slow-braised beef bourguignon:

🥩 Beef Profile: Incorporates savoury notes derived from slow-cooked Aberdeen Angus and ribeye beef.

🍄 Base Aromatics: Combines earthy mushroom, tomato, and red wine reductions to build savoury umami depth.

🌿 Winter Herb Blend: Infused with a complementary mix of thyme, rosemary, bay leaf, and parsley.

"Paris is where my love of French cooking really began, and it taught me that some of the most memorable food comes from simple, real ingredients, cooked with care and shared with the people you love," said Rachel Khoo.

"Beef Bourguignon has always been one of those wonderfully comforting dishes for me, so I loved the idea of taking those rich, classic flavours and giving them a festive, alpine twist with Kettle Chips."

The seasonal product has been formulated to meet UK nutritional regulations, achieving full compliance with High in Fat, Salt, and Sugar (HFSS) location and advertising restrictions.

The recipe relies entirely on natural seasonings and contains no artificial additives, adhering to the brand's core clean-label positioning. The packaging architecture features a dedicated seasonal design tailored to drive festive gifting, party hosting, and impulse purchasing across front-of-store fixtures during the fourth-quarter trading period.

Phased Retail Rollout and Distribution

Kettle Chips is initiating a phased distribution schedule across national supermarket and digital grocery channels:

23 September: Commercial rollout commences across Sainsbury's stores and online via Ocado.

1 October: In-store availability widens into Morrisons supermarket locations.

11 November: Distribution extends into convenience operator Co-op.

The 130g limited-edition sharing bags will remain listed across participating UK retail channels until late December 2026.
