Canned Mexican food manufacturer Juanita's Foods has acquired a 120,000-square-foot production facility in Santa Fe Springs, California, securing a permanent manufacturing base to support domestic expansion.
Located at 13100 Arctic Circle, the newly acquired industrial site will serve as the company's primary manufacturing facility. Under the operational plan, Juanita's will consolidate commercial processing operations currently housed at its long-standing plant in Wilmington, California, into the expanded Santa Fe Springs site through a phased operational transition.
Owned by private investment firm Apex Capital, Juanita's produces the top-selling brand of Mexican-style menudo and pozole in the United States. The infrastructure investment provides the business with the physical footprint required to scale processing volumes across both grocery retail and commercial foodservice channels nationwide.
The acquisition of the 120,000-square-foot industrial asset allows Juanita's Foods to modernise its production infrastructure while retaining manufacturing within its historic Southern California operating corridor.
Key operational deliverables and facility objectives of the transaction include:
Capacity Expansion: Provides additional processing lines and floor space to increase volume across core traditional canned meal and ingredient categories.
Phased Site Migration: Production will transition gradually from the legacy Wilmington plant to Santa Fe Springs to protect fill rates, inventory levels, and product consistency.
Regional Retention: Preserves long-standing food manufacturing employment and technical processing talent within Los Angeles County.
Supply Chain Consolidation: Unifies disparate processing and packaging functions into a single, scalable operating footprint.
Robert Rosales, Chief Executive Officer of Juanita's Foods, stated that the brand has manufactured its products in Southern California for 80 years, noting that the investment maintains that geographic commitment. Rosales explained that the Santa Fe Springs asset delivers the operational capacity and room to expand that the brand requires for its forward growth pipeline, while thanking municipal authorities and company personnel for facilitating the transition.

The phased transition of equipment and manufacturing personnel to the 13100 Arctic Circle site will proceed over the coming months as Juanita's configures the facility for commercial food processing.
Financial terms of the real estate and asset transaction were not disclosed.
