Jack Link’s, a dominant force in the global meat snack category, has announced a significant portfolio expansion centred on "clean label" transparency. The company is debuting a new lineup of sticks, steaks, and air-dried beef slices featuring only three ingredients: grass-fed and finished beef, salt, and vinegar.
The move signals a strategic shift for the category leader as it aims to capture the growing segment of consumers demanding simplified nutrition without the additives often found in processed portable proteins.
Scaling Simplicity
While "clean label" products have historically been the domain of niche, artisanal brands, Jack Link’s is leveraging its extensive global infrastructure to bring this level of simplicity to the mass market. With more than 20 facilities across nearly 10 countries, the company intends to prove that high-volume production and minimal-ingredient recipes are no longer mutually exclusive.
"Building a 3-ingredient meat snack at scale takes serious infrastructure and decades of category expertise," said Troy Link, CEO of Link Snacks. "Jack Link’s is positioned to deliver honest, minimal-ingredient products to consumers who demand real transparency."
Rollout Timeline and Product Specs
The initial launch will hit nationwide shelves this spring, featuring 2-ounce bags of 3-ingredient air-dried beef slices in Original and Hickory flavours. Key product details include:

The Market Context
Consumer trends in the B2B food space continue to pivot toward functional benefits and "clean" ingredient panels. According to nutrition expert Heidi Skolnik, MS, CDN, the shift is driven by a desire for transparency and essential nutrients that support muscle and immune health.
By removing complex preservatives and sugars, Jack Link’s is positioning its new portfolio to compete directly with both traditional snacks and functional health foods, utilising its supply chain to ensure these products remain "easily accessible" at a price point and volume that smaller competitors may struggle to match.
