Quick-service restaurant (QSR) franchisee Hoogland Restaurant Group (HRG) has announced the acquisition of five Marco's Pizza franchise locations across Texas and Tennessee.
The transaction reinforces HRG's position as the largest franchise operator within the Marco's Pizza network. The unit additions expand HRG's total operating footprint to 120 locations across 14 US states.
Regional Footprint Expansion in Texas and Tennessee
The acquired store portfolio incorporates four locations in Texas alongside a strategic unit in Tennessee:
🍕 Lewisville, Texas: Expanding unit coverage within the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan market.
🍕 Fort Worth, Texas: Strengthening store density across North Texas commercial corridors.
🍕 Saginaw, Texas: Adding suburban store coverage in Tarrant County.
🍕 North Richland Hills, Texas: Consolidating retail presence across suburban Dallas-Fort Worth.
🍕 Pigeon Forge, Tennessee: Capturing leisure and tourist footfall in a primary Smoky Mountains vacation destination.
McLain Hoogland, President of HRG, stated that expanding the store network during challenging QSR trading conditions reflects operational team execution and business stability.
Franchise Scale and Operations
The unit additions align with HRG's long-term store growth strategy. Founded in 2012 as Hoogland Foods, the family-owned operating business manages store development, local logistics, and community partnerships across its multi-state portfolio.
Zach McLaughlin, Vice-President of Operations for HRG, noted that integrating the five operational units allows the group to expand its delivery capabilities and service standards across regional markets.
Founded in 1978 in Oregon, Ohio, parent enterprise Marco's Pizza operates more than 1,300 locations across domestic and international markets, ranking as the fifth-largest pizza chain in the United States.
