US grocery sushi kiosk operator Hissho Sushi has collaborated with condiment brand Bachan’s to introduce a co-branded, ready-to-eat product for the summer trading season.
The collaboration introduces the Bachan’s Spicy Tuna Burrito, incorporating Bachan’s Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce into a grab-and-go sushi format.
The partnership is designed to leverage existing consumer habits. According to retail data, shoppers frequently use Bachan’s sauces as an alternative to traditional soy sauce when consuming sushi at home. By integrating the sauce directly into a prepared product, the brands aim to capture immediate trial at physical retail touchpoints, establishing a direct connection between the condiment brand and grocery deli counters.
The launch aligns with the ongoing expansion of ready-to-eat, globally inspired convenience foods within US grocery stores. For retail operators, co-branded food partnerships offer a mechanism to drive impulse purchases and raise average basket values within the deli and prepared food sectors.
Product Formulation and Ingredients
The limited-time product is hand-crafted by Hissho’s in-store chefs, combining classic sushi elements with a modern, portable format. The product specifications include:

🥑 Fresh Produce – A crisp texture profile utilising creamy avocado, fresh lettuce, and sliced cucumber.
🌾 Signature Crunch – A crispy ingredient layer wrapped in seasoned rice and nori, served with an additional packet of Bachan's Original Japanese Barbecue Sauce.
The product is manufactured using 100% responsibly sourced seafood, aligning with the clean-label and sustainability standards demanded by modern natural-channel shoppers.
