HARIBO UK has officially opened a new purpose-built warehouse at its Castleford site, marking the completion of a £35 million investment project designed to expand the company's production and logistics capabilities in the region.
The investment encompasses both the new warehouse facility and the addition of a production and packaging line at the Castleford site. Delivered by Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction, the project utilised a local supply chain to build the facility, which aims to improve operational efficiency and provide better capacity for managing product volumes and raw materials.
The site is equipped with updated technology to modernise operations, ensuring that the company can continue to meet UK market demand for its confectionery products.

Long-term Commitment to Yorkshire
HARIBO UK employs more than 700 people across its operations in Castleford and Pontefract, a region where the business has maintained a presence for more than 50 years. This latest investment reinforces the company's manufacturing footprint in West Yorkshire, which supports the distribution of its products across the country.
Phil Murphy, Chief Marketing Officer, HARIBO UK & Ireland said: “We've been part of West Yorkshire for more than 50 years and we're very proud to call it home. The region plays a hugely important role in HARIBO’s success across the UK, from the products we make here through to the people, skills and manufacturing expertise that support our operations every day. Being the UK’s leading sweets manufacturer is something we are incredibly proud of, and this investment reflects the important role West Yorkshire continues to play in that success.”
Yvette Cooper, MP for Pontefract, Castleford and Knottingley said: "It was great to cut the ribbon at the opening of the new warehouse at HARIBO’s Castleford site. I’m really pleased that the new warehouse will allow them to expand and continue to support 700 jobs across our area."
"HARIBO are a brilliant manufacturer who have been at the heart of our towns for decades, carrying on our sweet making tradition."
Steve Ford, Regional Managing Director, Caddick Construction North East & Yorkshire, commented: “It has been a privilege to work with HARIBO on this impressive expansion project, which has been especially significant with HARIBO making such a huge contribution to employment locally to our Wakefield Head Office. Together with our local supply chain partners, our team worked hard to deliver the new warehouse to a world-class standard to support HARIBO’s high-calibre production. We’re proud to have played our part in this project, creating a facility that will have a lasting impact on Yorkshire’s manufacturing sector and the wider community.”

Community and Industry Relations
In addition to the infrastructure investment, HARIBO UK continues to engage with the regional community. The company recently supported the completion of a project for Martin House Children’s Hospice and will return as the headline sponsor for the Pontefract Liquorice Festival on 12th July 2026. These activities align with the company’s ongoing focus on the local economy and heritage of the West Yorkshire region.
