The Ghirardelli Chocolate Company has expanded its premium confectionery portfolio with the commercial launch of Dubai Style Chocolate SQUARES, introducing the popular pistachio and kataifi pastry flavour combination to its signature filled chocolate square format.

The product debut translates a viral social media and artisan bakery phenomenon into high-volume commercial confectionery, drawing upon the manufacturer's more than 170-year chocolate processing heritage.

"Consumers continue to be drawn to the rich pistachio filling and crispy kataifi texture that define Dubai-style chocolate," said Bobby Oliver, Vice President and Head of Marketing at Ghirardelli Chocolate Company. "With our new Dubai Style Chocolate SQUARES, we've brought that experience into Ghirardelli's iconic format while delivering the premium quality that consumers expect from our brand."

To showcase the multi-component interior, Ghirardelli engineered a modified physical structure for the new offering:

By calibrating the recipe to maintain kataifi crunchiness within an ambient chocolate matrix, the brand overcomes moisture-migration challenges often encountered when combining baked pastry elements with nut fillings over extended retail shelf lives.

Commercialising Dubai Style Chocolate

The introduction marks a significant step in the commercialisation of the "Dubai chocolate" trend, which gained international prominence through viral confectionery bars originating in the Middle East.

While the profile has primarily been produced by specialised boutique chocolatiers, independent dessert shops, and regional bakeries, Ghirardelli's nationwide deployment brings the combination to mass-market grocery and confectionery aisles. The launch allows the confectionery producer to offer an accessible, single-portion entry point into an indulgent flavour trend that has traditionally commanded high price premiums in artisanal formats.

Pricing and Retail Availability

Ghirardelli Dubai Style Chocolate SQUARES are currently rolling out to major supermarket multiples, mass merchandisers, and speciality food stockists throughout the United States.

Available across major retail stockists nationwide and via the company’s direct-to-consumer digital storefront, the launch adapts the confectionery trend into an ambient, individually wrapped packaged format. Packaged in 4.4-ounce bags at a suggested retail price (SRP) of $10.99, the line extension pairs smooth pistachio filling with crispy shredded kataifi pastry encased in a milk chocolate shell.

The product is merchandised in 4.4-ounce stand-up bags with an SRP of $10.99, alongside availability on Ghirardelli.com. The launch is positioned to drive trade-up spending across premium chocolate fixtures ahead of key autumn and winter holiday gifting periods.
