British chocolate brand Fatso has collaborated with speciality roaster Rave Coffee to launch Mix Master, a limited-edition chunky dark chocolate bar combining single-origin Colombian coffee with confectionery inclusions.

Retailing at a recommended retail price (RRP) of £7.95, the premium chocolate bar pairs Fatso’s single-origin Colombian dark chocolate base with Rave's signature El Carmen No. 50 coffee beans, folded alongside crunchy caramelised hazelnuts and golden honeycomb pieces. The limited-time offering (LTO) is commercially available online through both Fatso's and Rave Coffee's direct-to-consumer digital channels.

The partnership brings together two independent UK food and beverage innovators, aligning ethical origin sourcing across cocoa and coffee value chains while targeting expanding consumer interest in multi-textured, cafe-inspired premium confectionery.

"We've taken seriously good Colombian dark chocolate, teamed it up with Rave's seriously good Colombian coffee, and made something that has no right being this delicious," said Ella McKay, co-founder of Fatso.

Rob Hodge, co-founder of Rave Coffee, added: "Bringing our single origin El Carmen No. 50 coffee together with their single origin Colombian dark chocolate felt like a no-brainer. The result is an exceptional chunky bar that proves great ingredients speak for themselves."

Formulation and Origin Sourcing

The product formulation pairs dark chocolate with distinct coffee notes, balanced by sweet and nutty inclusions:

🍫 Single-Origin Colombian Dark Chocolate: Sourced through Fatso's primary agricultural supply partnership with Colombian family-run enterprise Luker Chocolate, providing a rich, ethical cocoa baseline.

☕ El Carmen No. 50 Coffee: Grown in Colombia's renowned Huila department, Rave Coffee's bestselling single-origin roast delivers natural flavour notes of caramel, chocolate, and red stone fruits.

🌰 Caramelised Hazelnuts: Roasted hazelnut pieces coated in brittle caramel, contributing fatty crunch and roasted aroma.

🍯 Golden Honeycomb: Aerated cinder toffee pockets that provide light, brittle texture and deep honey sweetness.

By combining whole-food crunch inclusions with finely milled roast coffee and dark cocoa solids, the formulation provides multi-sensory mouthfeel while balancing the natural acidity of high-grown Colombian Arabica coffee against sweet caramelised notes.

Packaging Design and Distribution

To drive brand distinctiveness and social media visibility, the collaboration extends to secondary packaging:

📻 Boombox Packaging Visuals: Merchandised in an illustrated boombox-inspired paperboard carton referencing the brands' shared affinities for music, arts, and playful creative branding.

💻 Digital Route-to-Market: Commercial inventory is distributed via both brand webstores, fatsochocolate.com and ravecoffee.co.uk—leveraging shared digital customer communities across premium coffee subscribers and artisanal chocolate enthusiasts.

The limited-edition release enables both businesses to test cross-category co-branding and evaluate consumer demand for high-end collaborative confectionery ahead of potential physical speciality retail expansion.
